Has anyone gotten any information back for the 2013 fall cohort for GCC in CA?
Thanks SoCalCrystal! When did you start the program at GCC? How are you liking it? I am waiting to hear if I've been accepted for fall 2013.
I was spring 2012 cohort and I graduate this December. I was actually accepted at other programs and decided on GCC after attending orientatioms at all of them. I absolutely love the program, instructors amd clinical experience. I feel like they do a wonderful job at preparing you for NCLEX and help with job placememt after graduation.

That's awesome! Congrats on your success in the program! That's so good to hear your experience has been positive:) and you feel prepared-that's huge! Are you planning to work with your RN or bridge to another program (BSN/MSN)?

I plan on bridging for bsn then msn and eventually my doctorate since in 2016 that is what will be required for an NP.

Thanks for responding, can you go into detail about the job placement assistance? One of my coworkers, 1st year, attends GCC for nursing and tells me the professors are so-so, and that its pretty difficult, former A student is now receiving B grades.

Its absolutely tough, but that is nursing school. Don't expect the As to come easy. Theres too much information and 2 years is not even close to enough time to learn it all, but that doesnt mean you won't be prepared. You will feel lost after first semester. There's so much thrown at you and itd a completely new way of learning amd studying. After 2nd though things start to come together.
As far as job placement every professor I know will take the time to write wonderful letters of recommendation and most hospitals love GCC grads. Our school has a wonderful reputation at the hospitals and our school also does interview prep and posts about job opportunities all the time.
