We'll eat just about anything, but if it's yummy AND healthy, so much the better! We had a pt not too long ago send in one of those 'bouquets' of flowers made out of fruit and then dipped in chocolate. We fell all over ourselves going in there to thank them for it. :)
Best wishes for uneventful delivery/recovery and a lovely heathy baby!
Unless you are willing to provide totally seperate food stuffs for the different shifts, don't bother.
Pony up for something that will last more than 11 seconds. How about decent gel pens for everyone? Black, of course. Get them at your local office supply superstore. Ask how many people work in the unit. Quality pens are usually appreciated by everyone.
Pocket calendars are nice, too, but many people just use their phones these days.
Just my 2 cents!
All those ideas sound great! I do agree about all three shifts too! I'm thinking about maybe buying three HUGE boxes of chocolate candies for the nurses' station for each shift and then enough of these kinds of pens for everyone to have one:

Do you think these would work or just some regular good quality pens?
Hmm, let's see I don't know if you have a Sam's/Costco near you but they make these large boxes of cookies. Bagels are always great too (on any shift, but I have to say I love them on nights), Starbucks does those loafs and carry coffee, places like whole foods you can get chocolate dipped fruit from without it being too expensive. Just a couple ideas.
This is SO sweet of you!! And I honestly do NOT think you need to go crazy buying little gifts for all three shifts! that seems overboard and frankly I think its rude for other shifts to expect something from a patient they may have not even seen once! Again, VERY sweet of you for even thinking of doing this. When I was on L&D I never saw any patients bring in gifts for the entire floor.

FYI, most facilities don't allow neck lanyards anymore -- strangulation hazard.
And I agree with the others -- very thoughtful of you to think of doing something like this!

I'm not a nurse, but I am an expectant mother. We'll be going in for a planned c-section and so I wasn't sure what to get the nursing staff. Individual gifts are out since we don't want to forget anyone, so I was thinking about some kind of treat or gift basket or something.
I know food is always good, but what do you get? I'm in Texas and it's still hot, hot, hot here. I've thought about everything from ordering a subway platter for the ward to just a gift basket with junk food, etc. Any suggestions on your favorite gifts would be great.
Please keep in mind that I want to get something for the L&D staff, the nursery staff, and the maternity ward staff since I'm having a c-section. And, if there needs to be a different set for each, please let me know that too.
