Gift Idea for Preceptor?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has any gift ideas for a preceptor/office? I am close to the end of my first rotation in a Peds office. The office is comprised of one doc, one MA, and one receptionist. I was thinking about something that they could all enjoy, so was thinking of food of some kind, but the doc is health-conscious. Any ideas are appreciated.

I'd give something based on the length of time with the preceptor.  If it's only 40 hours or so, I'd give a $20 gift card to somewhere that they go.  If it's more, I'd give more.  My wife was with someone for about a year (because of Covid).  We gave him a weekend in our RV at a state park.  They have 4 small children and they LOVED it.  It only cost my time bringing it there, setting it up, and about $40 in fees.

When I was in school, I gave one of my male preceptors (who him and his wife had been trying to get pregnant) a pair of camouflaged underwear so he could sneak up on her, LOL!  Of course it was a lighthearted gift between men, but wouldn't you know, they got pregnant soon after.  We still have a great laugh about it.  I work with him now.

I've given gift cards, a cute mug that said, "Doctor: Because Everyday Badass isn't an Official Job Title," and alcohol. Gift cards as usually safe bets.

I gave one of my preceptors a 3-in-1 charging cable that has a USB-C,  a Lightning plug for iPhones, and a micro USB so that she can charge both her Android phone and her iPhone at the same time (as she had borrowed mine a few times). For another preceptor, I ordered from Dunkin Donuts a pot of coffee and a variety of donuts for National NP Week.

For health-conscious recipients, food options might be more difficult. I think people might appreciate assorted coffees (like K-cups) or assorted herbal TEAS. When I'm lazy and I don't know what to get someone, I often resort to an Amazon gift card, which so far, many people respond positively to. A nice smelling candle might be nice, too. Hope that helps.

These are all really great ideas! Thanks!

WaWa gas cards also greatly appreciated.
