So I work In a LTC facility and I work closely with 5 CNAs. I've only been here about 4 months but I wanted to show them my appreciation by getting them gifts for the holidays. Nothing extravagant but simple hand sanitizer, hand soap and a small candle. However, I work with other CNAs too just not on a regular basis. Will it be horrible if I only get those 5 gifts and no one else?

I've thought about that, too, but have always decided against it. Not only do I not want to publicly announce favorites, but I worry that it might make the CNAs feel awkward. I wouldn't want them to feel like they "owe" me extra dedication at work and I wouldn't want them to feel like they had to get me a gift, in return.
I would only buy personal gifts (even small ones) for employees that I have a relationship outside of work with and would give the gifts outside of work. Otherwise, I'd bring something for them as a group, like a big tin of cookies.

Lovely cards for all of them with a more personal note in the cards of the ones you are closest to, you could even attach a small ornament would be a choice that would not single any one group out.

I will not be giving any gifts this year since I am simply not in the mood.
However, in years past, everyone on my floor received a gift bag with a small greeting card and a handful of fun-size Hershey's miniatures. This was affordable enough for me to do it for everyone without leaving people out.
