GHC fall semester is going great! Lots and lots of fun. How do you guys in Marietta like your instructors?
I asked the NP here at the hospital and she said that she would address the temp first. She said that the temperature can cause the other vital signs to become higher.
I agree with you hopeformelissa....I would think the resp rate should be addressed first???
I found this type of question on the cd of the fundamentals book...it really gets you to think.
For the online sections, do you think we have to know specific information on the theorists (i.e) What are the 4 phases that Hildeard Peplau found? OR do you think they will be less specific like (i.e) who is the founder of modern day nursing? How are you all studying the information online?
FYI... one of the GHC instructors has the Swine Flu. It doesn't say who, but that means it's a little too close to home. If it becomes a big problem, I guess they'll close school. I'm assuming that means all campuses. Who know? Here is the link:

Hmmm....that sounds like an NCLEX question.
Let's see:
Temp- 101 I believe that unless it is over 102, then it's not a first priority.
Pulse- 115 Little bit fast, but at least you know his heart is beating.
BP- 160/95 This is high, but they are not going to die immediately from it.
Resp- 28 This is HIGH, and I would suspect their oxygen level would be hindered b/c of it. If they aren't
getting enough oxygen, the temp/pulse/BP won't matter because they could go into respiratory
failure.
That is my rationale. What do you other ladies think?
