plus... i also enrolled to a not so very popular school...
i only pay this semester 520$ and that is for six months...

PN does not make criteria for immigration, you need to be RN plus the US has had retrogression since Oct 2006 and will continue .

Your sister is working as a CNA because she has a green card for the US, there are no visas available otherwise. And take the time to do some reading on the Philippine Forum, there has been much written on this topic.
Unfortunately, there are legal visas for you to work anywhere in the world with that visa.
You may see some programs talking of being in the US in just four months, but they fail to tell you that it is with an illegal visa for nurses called the H2-B and actually makes the LPN subject to being deported for ten years for immigration fraud.
It is not even a point of the school, but that you need to have the RN after your name with a full four year BSN. The two year ADN programs from there will not get you a visa either.
The other thing that you need to take into account is that your country does not license those that have taken the LPN program, or even those that have gone thru the ADN program; there is no reason that the US has to accept anyone with that training. And they are not for immigration purposes. You also are unable to get any experience without being licensed in your country so that hurts you as well.
Not sure why your sister did not tell you that this training and all of the money that you spent on it will be entirely useless for you without going for the four year BSN.
I know that this is not what you want to hear, but others need to start complaining to your government about these programs that only benefit the owner of the school.
gosh....i am really disappointed...!!!
after all...it will be all useless...
anyway thanks....atleast its clear now...
and i will not expect anymore for nothing!!!
this is why we tell everyone to check out things before they do it. a red flag should always go up for anyone when your own country does not accept the training.
the only ones that are coming out ahead are the owners of these schools. sorry that you did not know about this site beforehand, we have been discussing it since these schools started.
all of you need to start being vocal about it and getting these programs closed down. sure, they advertise that you will be able to write the nclex-pn exam; and that is true. but they fail to state anything about not being able to get a legal visa to work in the us. and we are seeing them still talk about the h2-b, but that is not accepted for nurses in this country and is grounds to get deported if one gets picked up using it. and then not permitted to enter the us again for ten years.
best of luck to you. if your goal is to work as an rn, you are going to need to go for the rn, and the four year version for the bsn since that is the only one that is recognized by your government as well. the adn cannot be used for any other country for immigration purposes as well.
please pass this information along to anyone of your friends that are in these programs as well as others that are considering them. if no students enroll, then the schools will close down.
i was confused last night...but it is already clear now....
i've asked my dean about this issues and he says that don't listen to
the people in the internet cause their giving us wrong information...
and my other professor and other student also agree with that....
i ask other students who already finish this program....about this issue..they said some people are lying and discouraging other innocent students in the philippines...there are rows and thousand of pages of licensed agencies in the POEA..and open jobs from other country...
my school is not a big one...but the past graduates are earning dollars now...in dubai, barain, japan, norway and australia....
and in our pinning and capping one of the product of my school who is a licensed PN who is working now in NORWAY will be our guest speaker...this is just my piece of advice...to the other PN students and will plan to enroll this program...don't waste your time listening to the wrong information given by the people in the internet...focus on your school and study hard... they have their own reason why they do that...if you have a question, if u want to find jobs..there are the embassies and the POEA....dont be discourage that if you finish you cant able to find a job " Be a positive thinker"... there are lots of job in the world...used your diploma as a steping stone... to work abroad theres nothing wrong with that...many filipino's did that... and no one get caught...and if there is i think they are rich enough ...and they dont need to go back to that country anymore...lots of opportunities..and remember we are filipino's most of the companies in other countries want us..we are like dandelions...wherever we go...what ever place we reach...and whatever job offered to us...we will still survived and become productive and successful...More power to all!!!!

but still...you are not eligible to immigrate to the US as an LPN.
Perhaps you want to do some reading on a previous thread in which this was discussed in detail.

It really does not matter what your dean tells you, that is just a bunch of bull that you are being fed by this dean.
The issue is that there is not one country in the world that will accept the LPN training from your country for a visa to work legally. And that is what it comes down to.
If you do not beleive us here, why don't you go and pay a little visa to the US Embassy in Manila and get their take on it.
You have to remember that your dean gets money based on students attending there, not what is happening in the real world. And your country does not even accept the training for licensure either.
You are free to do as you please but you will be wasting time for no reason. There is a sticky at the top of the Philippine Forum and there are many posts by LPN graduates from your country that have been unable to get a visa to do anything with it. You can also read about the LPNs that are being deported from here for immigration fraud for attempting to use the H2-B that cannot be used for nurses.
Best of luck to you, there is nothing that any of us can help you with.

And they are working in Norway as a care-giver, essentially a maid. Not as a licensed nursing professional. Your country is famous for signing contracts like this.
You can think what ever you want, but the fact is that there are no visas for those to use the LPN license or equivalent.
As stated repeatedly, there is no country in the world that will issue a visa based on the LPN training. Even the US does not issue visas to those that even train in the US for the LPN. We do not have shortages of those.

Hi Majo! Did your school really say that they have LPN graduates who are now working in Japan? That's impossible, the agreement between our country and Japan about hiring nurses isn't even ratified yet.
Also, from what I read your school doesn't seem to mind that LPNs are getting into other countries illegaly, they think that it's okay as long as they don't get caught. Well, just think about it, what's stopping them from providing wrong information to students just to increase the enrollment in their schools? They'll have that same mentality, "it's okay, we won't get caught, and even then we'll already have made plenty of money." See? A school that tolerates fraud won't hesitate to do so themselves.
My cousin is also an LPN student. He refuses to believe that there are no visas for the US and no work opportunities in the Philippines for LPNs. Apparently, his school said that the reason why LPN programs are being discouraged is because RNs (and the Phillipine Nurses Association) are afraid that the nursing jobs will go to LPNs instead of RNs. Is this what they also told you?
Anyway, that's just my two cents. Good luck in whatever you wish to do.:)
P.S What would we here (in the internet) get from telling lies? Nothing. What would the people in an LPN school get from telling lies? More students and more money of course!

Hello,
If you review word for word on the US immigration law there is no LPN stated there. In the Philippines they just misinform people just to get the money from our pockets. There is no License Practical Nursing visa sort of thing like that.
I am mad on those schools who wanted to exploit students' money and careers are only a waste. Even CHED (Commission on Higher Education) made a Memo on this matter.
If we only share these things to our fellow countrymen then there will be no victims.
Please search for more informations.
I'm so sorry for you.
