Getting into nursing school........

Published

Hey,

I am about to apply to the direct entry family nurse practitioner program and as of right now I have amazing grades(4.0 on all my prereqs), amazing letters of recommendation, and a lot of volunteer work. I am going to be taking the GRE in about a month and I have not been doing so well on the practice test. I am barely getting over a 150 on both the quants and verbal sections, and I am worried about how this can affect my acceptance in getting into the direct entry programs. My first question is, will the GRE have an effect on my chance of getting into school, like if I don't do so well will be able to apply and get in? Second, I am thinking of purchasing an online prep course in order to boost my grade up, I was wondering if anyone in the nursing community has bought any online prep course. What was your experience with it and do you recommend it?

Thank You

If your program requires the GRE, then you have to achieve the minimum admissions score or higher to get accepted. There are programs out there that don't require the GRE for acceptance. It's based on your academic achievement.
