Getting bad vibes about next class

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Lord help me, I have just checked on the ratemyprofessors.com and my next teacher sounds like the anti-christ. I know from experience that many of those comments are left by angry students who dont want to do the work. Its just that you can usually tell because there will be 1 or 2 redeeming posts and on this rating there were none. Not a single so-so you might make it if you study hard comment. It was about 10 posts of you might need medication or commit suicide.

Im going to see what happens the first day and then mabye try to get into a different class in the next couple weeks.

Rate my professors has been right on the mark for me for two years now. I've gotten some professors that were said to be awful (and they were) but I haven't failed a class yet so here's hoping you'll make it through as well! =)

I will find out on Tuesday. We have a 'quiz'. Its only 1 week after the first class but she hasnt told us what it will be on except that it is on Lecture. That pretty much covers powerpoints from the first chapter. Im a little annoyed that I have to be test ready in 1 week because this is not an accelerated class, it is the whole summer. No idea what the 15 points will be based on so I have to bust my hump and be essay question ready for the whole first chapter in 1 week. ugh! I liked the last Prof for A&P 1 better. Whole grade based on exams, but at least you could work at your own pace and only had to be ready at Exam time.

ngl Anne, that annoyed me about her too. I mean the quizzes are easy and if you know it, you'll be done in 5 min or less. Very basic stuff.

During my semester though, because of the snow days, she moved some quizzes to Wed. So we'd have lecture on Mon. and only have Mon. night, and Tues. to study for a quiz! I hated Tuesdays!!!

Considering that A&P is the type of course that requires quite a bit of effort (from what I've heard and observed), you'll have a lot of negative commentary no matter who the prof is. I say really try and go in with an open mind (you might not be able to get a better prof anyway) and forget all the things you read on RMP. Then if it's really not working and you have the option, try to get a different class.

Exactly. One of the reasons why I stopped going to RMP. Most pre-reqs and NURSING classes are going to be hard no matter what. So, it doesn't really matter who you have for professors. Nursing profs. (nice or not, down-to-earth, rude, strict or whatev), will often enforce their nursing school policies. So, it doesn't matter which prof. a student has. Plus, those ratings on RMP do not necessarily mean they're ALL from students. Who's to say that profs. do NOT rate themselves? I don't know... I haven't had any reason to check anyone for a long time.

Oh, but I must admit though, with some of the pre-req profs. I've had in the past -- I had to suck it up and I was VERY thankful afterwards, that I did NOT have to deal with them any longer. Some people just suck!
