Gerontology....Who has or is taking this class soon???

Who's taking it winter 2? Have you gotten your book? Are you buying or renting?

Also, if you have taken it, any advice? :D

Where did you find the Tuesday's with Morrie?? We can choose book or movie?

In my course it was our choice to watch the movie or read the book. I thought watching the dvd would be faster than reading the book. I did go to the library and borrow the book to use as reference when I did my assignment. I ordered the dvd online.

I took Gerontology, I hated it, but I hate geriatrics...

You have to read and/or watch Tuesdays with Morrie and you have to write a reflection..

Here was my breakdown from the course:

Writing Assignments (3 @ 50 Points Each) 150 Points (44%)

Writing Assignment (1 @ 10 points) 10 Points (3%)

Writing Assignment (1 @ 90 points) 90 Points (26%)

Quizzes (4 @ 10 Points Each) 40 Points (12%)

Discussion Participation (5 @ 10 Points Each) 50 Points (15%)

Total Points 340 Points (100%)

Is there a lot of reading? I enjoyed Tuesdays with Morrie. Just upoloaded it upon my iphone. Will rent the video and watch on my computer.

The movie will be on January 20 on OWN. Is that Oprah's channel? I just searched on Directv to see when it would be on again. It will be saved on my DVR for when I am ready.

I'm taking 410 next session! I've been renting my books from Chegg and I've been very pleased. I think I'll watch the flick during the break and get ready to write as it appears there is quite a bit of that. Better find the book as well. This session is zipping by!

Unfortunately, there IS a lot of writing for gero... Ugh I do NOT envy those of you who are taking it! and yes a lot of reading! But keep in mind I am not a fan of geriatrics.

Hey all,

I am also in this class for upcoming session. I am a bit confused from reading the thread about the book. There is no book listed as of yet. Are you saying there is a textbook as well as the "Tuesdays with Morrie" Book? If there is a textbook can you tell me the name please?

In the meantime I will watch the movie. Thanks for the heads up!
