I will be tackling this class starting on August 27th.Anyone else enrolled?
I thought we are looking for evidence-based research to show how we would help someone who was having the problems we encountered with our self-imposed limitations. consultgerirn.org has a lot of great info that is free. Does anyone have any oither free sites they are using?
I almost exclusively use CINAHL ever since I started at OU. I went back and looked at the requirements for this paper, it said we have to use "refereed" sources which I guess is another word for peer-reviewed. I went to that site you listed but I didn't see any research articles on it but then again I just looked at it pretty quickly. Pretty neat site though.

I use CINAHL as well. The rubric states to use 5 current scholarly nursing journals or textbooks addressing the 3 self imposed limitations. I did my best to bring it all together. Mine is submitted and not I'm off to a family gathering. Good luck all! Until next weeks assignment!

OK, how we would help them makes sense. I found an article on urinary incontinence that deals with quality of life, so I'm using that one.
I've found a few articles by using the Ohio library as well.
For those of you using CINAHL, how are you accessing it? All I'm seeing is the option to sign up for a free trial. You're supposed to be able to do it through the school, right?
Here's how I get to it. There may be an easier way. Click on Library Services link on main page of RN to BSN program...then in all those green tabs, look for "Nursing Article Database" and click on it...the first box with info is about Cinahl along with a hyperlink..click on that hyperlink and it will take you right to it. You may get another page where you have another hyperlink that you have to click on. You may have to sign in but just use the same sign in that do you to access BlackBoard. Hope that helps.

Great thank you! I hate trying to use ALICE and all that. It's a pain.
So how did you guys do on the first week? I got docked 2 points for in text citations, as I forgot to include a couple page or paragraph numbers for online journals when I cited them. Grading was a bit more harsh for what I missed than some of my other classes. Losing an entire point for one missed paragraph or page number seems like a lot. But I'll know from here on out, so hopefully I can not lose any points in the future for APA issues.

Same here, got docked for APA. I agree, the grading seems pretty harsh on APA but other than that, this class actually seems pretty easy. At least compared to the ones I've taken so far.

I researched each area of the 3 choices I made, that's how I did it. Coming up with 5 references was a bit of a challenge.
This is the very first paper I've done where I actually had to shorten my paper, it went over 5 pages. I'm usually not writing enough lol.
