I'm taking this course starting August 26th, anyone with me?
I'm in this course and so far I am not a fan! I also have been getting deductions for APA formatting that I have used in several other BSN courses without ever receiving deductions. However, my question is this: what exactly is the finished Changes of Aging paper to look like? I see the assessment tools, overall impression section, and medication section. Are we supposed to just list scores from the assessment tools in that section? It sounds silly, but I have no idea what the finished product should look like and the multiple announcements aren't substituting for a single clear set of instructions! Could anyone clarify for my sleep deprived brain?

Here is what I did. Introduction ( including purpose of essay (thesis statement), and description of the client)
Assessment Tools - gave a description of use of tools in genral and then made a chart, listed tools in one column and the test results in the 2nd column.
Went through each heading as it was listed in the rubric ( and announcement). Level 2 headings (left side bolded, no underline) Described the tool, purpose and client results. any other details about the info gained from the interview goes here too.Be sure to reference each and every tool (in text and on reference page).
Overview and Summary
gave more detail about the results of each test, what the results mean to the patient, in otherwords what the result tells you about the patient functioning. Included other details from your other references .... stuff like nutrition, or med safety or whatever you found ( I included BMI with reference).
Conclusion statement what you learned from the assessments, usefulness of tools to gerentological nursing. blah... blah... blah
Hope that helps
Thanks so much cincinursemary. I guess I'll do something similar and just post the assessments and then limit the overview and summary to the specified 3-4 paragraphs. I feel like the paper will still look long due to containing several tables. I can't possibly see how the entire assignment could be limited to the 3-4 paragraphs. This may be the worst designed set of instructions I have ever read for any class assignment. Just so ambiguous!

Not done in 3-4 paragraphs.... maybe 3 paragraphs per section. ( it was 7 pages with title and ref pages)...
And I forgot to mention.... put in the Medication list at the end. don't forget to state if the pt knows how to take the meds. I used quotes "this is my water pill, I take it at 7am every day" or something to that effect, it was my 3rd column. I don't know if that was right or not, we'll see....
Hi~ I am hoping that you can answer a question for me. I am taking 4560 now also and I am doing the 1st part of the Older Adult interview. I noticed in the teaching tips announcement that we are supposed to reference the tools in our reference section. Is there a resource that explains how to do that? I have looked through Owl and have not found anything.....ugh.
Thanks in advance.
just reference the 3rd edition of our textbook, that is where they came from! here is the announcement my class was given:

Many of you have been asking how to site tools from blackboard. There are 2 ways: you can use https://blackboard.ohio.edu/webapps/(then URL) or use 3rd edition of book even if you have the 4th edition (per faculty). Either will be acceptable. Does help clarify.
