Georgia State University Spring 2014

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hey guys! Is anyone out there applying to the GSU Spring 2014 program? I know we have some time until applications are turned in, but I wanted to get an idea as to who is planning on applying. What is everyone's GPA and TEAS scores?

Looking forward to see what I'm up against! :)

How soon after completing the PINS review were you able to register for nursing courses? I still have an academic department restriction..

how do we do the PINS review?

mestizalynn,

Did you turn your acceptance form to the nursing office on the 9th floor?

If so, you can review the PINS through desire2learn. Mine is already there.

I mailed it yesterday, and I am able to get onto Desire 2 learn, but where is it from there?

Thanks!

Just a reminder: per the website Terms of Service (TOS), posting Facebook links in the forums is prohibited. However, you can give people the name of your group so they can search for it on Facebook. If you are interested in the Facebook group referenced above, search for Georgia State Nursing for Spring 2014.

Thanks!

On the D2L homepage, under My Courses, look for a section labeled "Migrated Semester." The PINS review will be located there.

After completing the PINS review, were you able to register for classes yet? Or am I simply being too impatient and should give them more time to remove the registration restriction xD

Alright, I understand.

If you would like to meet your nursing peers for Spring 2014, please search for "Georgia State Nursing for Spring 2014" on Facebook! :roflmao:

According to Wanda at the nursing office, she will look at the list of students who has finished the PINS quiz with 100% (unlimited attempts) and manually enter the information, which allows those students can register for nursing courses. I am planning to take the quiz this weekend, hoping she will do so on Monday.

I applied to both to increase my chances lol. I don't mind either or as long as I get in and not waste my spring semester doing nothing! lol But after turning in the application and hearing more and more about it, I feared the ACE track simply because I have a toddler who's turning 2, and was kinda scared that I won't do as well with the ACE track. Hmm...but because I have my Bachelors already, I have all of my cores done already, so I don't know how this all will work out....

I have no idea who to contact to figure this out. I've asked Mrs. Reed (the advisor) awhile back but she was unable to help. I don't know whether to evenly spread my courses out or to plan my schedule in hopes that I can graduate one semester earlier, as I do not want to be stuck having a semester with only 4 credit hours..

You can't skip ahead unless there's room and usually there's not since spaces are reserved for those on the track before us. Clinical spaces are also limited because it depends on the hospital.

Talk to Wanda Little. I did. I dropped out of my position for the traditional track. It's a waste of my money and time (being a part-time student, having to pay for extra fees cause I'm staying at the school longer and wasting my time away being a part-time student since I refuse to pay for classes I don't need just to make my schedule full time). SO yeah.....I dropped out of the traditional program. I told her I rather try again next semester for the ACE track, which she said I might get in since I wasn't far behind. I know my GPA will go up this semester after all these courses too. (right now it's 3.6 program and 3.7 science 90 on my TEAS..hopefully it'll go up to around 3.8). I'm also applying to Valdosta for this summer semester for the ACE program and for Kennesaw ACE program for fall2014.

I mean...I'm bound to get into one of the three schools right? lol Idk...I just feel that being in the traditional track and graduate in 2016 is such a waste of my time.

Wow, I see. Thank you very much for the information! I have emailed her and will see what she recommends. I think the only problem would be finding an available senior practicum. If only that can be done..

Good luck to you in your other applications!
