  1. This is my first time applying to jobs outside of the state I live in. I'm curious how the interview process would work. Is a phone or video interview enough or will I need to fly to Maryland for an interview? Also, will the hospital cover plane tickets? Thanks for your help!
  2. Do hospitals usually do phone or video interviews and then call you in for an in-person interview? Also, are you responsible for buying plane tickets or will that be covered? Thank you for your help!
  3. To OP: I hope things are better for you and that you've learned how to cope with oncology. I just completed my first day of clinical rotations at an in-patient oncology unit, and to be honest, it was overwhelming.. I feel the same way you felt. I was crying during my drive home because seeing very sick elderly patients in pain is simply heartbreaking. Despite my depressed mood, I know that nursing is still the profession for me. I just gotta get over this mindset!
  4. Thank you! I appreciate your advice. I'll be beginning a 3-year BSN program next semester and believe that it will be less strenuous but still a challenge.
  5. Your very welcome. Please invite anyone you know who will be joining our nursing program in the spring!
  6. Gladly. I sent you the link! For everyone else, please join our group here (facebook.com/groups/1432339580318720/)
  7. I messaged you the link. That's weird. I wasn't aware that people were having trouble finding the group on FB. I changed some settings so please let me know whether you still have problems with it.
  8. Just search "Georgia State Nursing for Spring 2014" on Facebook Anyone should be able to find the group and request to join.
  9. Gotcha. I'd just like to do everything in my ability to help land a job right after graduation. Also, experience always helps.
  10. Thanks! Were you able to find a part-time job in a hospital/clinic during nursing school?
  11. If you turned in your acceptance form on Friday, it is possible they have not had the chance to clear you for the PINS review. It should be up on D2L after this weekend.
  12. Do you know who to ask about this? I would consider the ACE program. However, I cannot say for certain, as I do not think this is possible.
  13. I just got accepted into nursing school for next semester. However, in my spare time, I would like to have some hands-on preparation for my future career. My program track is not accelerated and I have summers off. Should I pay for the training now or can I expect to find a job after a year or two of nursing school? Also, what kind of jobs do you recommend for a nursing school student and usually how easy are they to find? Thanks for your input.
  14. Wow, I see. Thank you very much for the information! I have emailed her and will see what she recommends. I think the only problem would be finding an available senior practicum. If only that can be done.. Good luck to you in your other applications!
  15. I have no idea who to contact to figure this out. I've asked Mrs. Reed (the advisor) awhile back but she was unable to help. I don't know whether to evenly spread my courses out or to plan my schedule in hopes that I can graduate one semester earlier, as I do not want to be stuck having a semester with only 4 credit hours..
