Georgia State University (GSU) Spring 2018

Published

Hi everyone!

The deadline for the ACE application for Spring 2018 at Georgia State University was yesterday and so now the wait begins! Who else applied?

My stats are:

Undergrad GPA: 3.7

Pre-requisite and Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS score: 91.3

Good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll all be meeting in January!

I am trying to be as positive as possible. I was wait listed for this last term (fall 2017) and I really would love some great news.. so just hoping for the best. It is very stressful waiting, I am glad we can all lean on each other to make calls and share what our feedback has been. I thought I had been rejected and received the wait list letter in the mail a week or two after people got their acceptance emails.

I also have lost all hope of hearing anything anytime soon. But Mariss1, I totally agree! This forum has been really great, just knowing we're all in the same boat. I really hope we all get in and get to continue this same support for each other as nursing students.

Just called again. New timeline is two weeks AFTER the break is over. I asked what the holdup is since every semester has heard before ours and this is week six and he said he wasn't at liberty to discuss why this is taking so long. I told the guy on the phone that there was no way that we could get everything figured out on our end with student loans, housing, job situations, ect with only two weeks between semesters and he didn't seem to care. Yall please call them too and put more pressure on them to start handing out decisions soon.

Wow. That's insane. Did they just forget that they needed to evaluate our applications? I'm moving forward with KSU; if I get in at GSU great. But right now, I have to move forward with the school that respected my time. This is really disappointing and disrespectful to us as students.

I may go ahead and move foward with chamberlain . I can't believe they're doing this

You just blew my mind.

This is the only school I applied to for spring semester, so I've got all my eggs in one basket and GSU is my first choice. I'm in this one for the long haul and will see it to the end, no matter the decision, but I completely understand putting more stock into other schools because of this.

I'm with you daintyelbow!

I didn't apply to KSU because I had no hope that I'd be accepted there...but KSU sounds like a better option if this is how GSU treats their applicants. Insane.

A friend of mine was just accepted into the traditional track.

That is wonderful for your friend.

I stopped into the advisement office today and waited about an hour, I decided to make an appointment next week, but as I was waiting a woman came out to consolidate the list to be seen and I mentioned to her to put a line through my name. She asked what department and I responded nursing. She sort of widened her eyes and said a lot of people are here for that area.

Long story short she told me that acceptances had been emailed and some mailed and that they would send out some today and tomorrow. I asked about the two weeks after the break responses and she said there were over 500 applicants and 72 spots and they have a lot to review. she offered that If I felt I had the grades I could apply to the associate nursing program, which worried me a little because I came down town to achieve a BSN. All we can do it wait it out and hope for the best, this was also the only school l applied to for the 2018 spring and I am still hoping we are going to get that magical email!

I figured I would share what I heard today. lets all stay strong!

Five hundred applicants? Jeez, that's a lot. A lot more than the ~200 that typically apply. Maybe I'm just being cynical (or have been watching too many cop shows ;) ) but that could just be a coverup for them dragging their feet this whole time. So tomorrow really could be it, huh? I might go to bed early tonight just so tomorrow will be here faster!
