Georgia State University (GSU) Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

The deadline for the ACE application for Spring 2018 at Georgia State University was yesterday and so now the wait begins! Who else applied?

My stats are:

Undergrad GPA: 3.7

Pre-requisite and Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS score: 91.3

Good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll all be meeting in January!

I called and left a message with GSU Student Health, Atlanta campus (404-413-1930) and the person that called me back seemed to know what I was talking about. She was able to squeeze me in for Monday morning when I told her all the forms are due Monday. I also went in to my provider's office yesterday and then realized that the PPD could only be done in certain places. :(

Hildegaard, the ACEMAPP link came through GSU email from Wanda Little. It said 'an account has been registered for you with ACEMAPP'.

My acemapp didn't show up in my "focused mail" but it was there in another folder. In case that helps anyone. I turned all my papers including page 4 into the office at the school. And will be uploading my health records, etc tonight to acemapp.

With the student health center I just walked in for immunizations, the skin test they will do and need you to come back a day or two later to read it. They didn't require an appointment for immunizations .. just Incase anyone wants to walk in! There is parking right across the street, and it's near the student commons building. I mistakenly walked all the way to the address on google near the sports arena and boy was I wrong!

Hope this helps!

Hey guys what is the address of where you went to turn in your forms and what time do they close during the week/ weekends?

Urban Life Building 9th floor room 900! I think they'll only be open until 12 today because of the weather but then normally 5

Hey you guys. I called the nursing office concerning ACEMAPP and they said I had not been registered to it through them, that was Friday, still haven't received an email. Also, silly question, in the stuff we have to sign where it says "witness," did you guys have someone affiliated with the nursing program sign it, or just someone you know?

When I turned in my forms, the man at the front desk told me they would handle that part themselves.

Hey all, I had trouble finding the other page created for the Nursing program - I created a closed group page - the link is above where we will get notifications and can post and help each other out! Please request to add, any ideas are welcome for the page.

Looking forward to meeting everyone next week!

Title reads GSU ACE Nursing jan 2018 - may 2019

I'm so late, but I am also new here.. I was hoping someone can help me out.. so I am a transfer student from California. I first started Fall 17' with a super ****** 3.2 GPA, then I finished fall with a 3.7 GSU GPA. Spring 18' was just not a good feel for me and I ended up with a 3.4 GSU GPA. I have my TEAS scheduled for July 18' to hope to start nursing school Spring 19'. I am not sure of my science GPA. Going down the ACE pre-requisites I look like I am in good standing, as I have gotten 3 B's (unfortunately) and the rest A's. I am taking my A&P over summer and Fall 18', so I know I have to get no lower than an A for them. To sum this crazy all up:

Current GPA: 3.4

Science: ?

TEAS: in progress

Volunteer hours: on the way to 1000 (unintentionally)

Letters of rec: I work at Grady and my supervisor is willing to write me a letter.

I would really, really want to get into the ACE program but it seems impossible doesn't it...? :/ I will apply to both though (and other programs)

I would really appreciate some feedback/comments..anything...

To begin congrats. Good luck on applying to GSU. To be honest and from experience do not put all your eggs in one basket with GSU. It really is an unofficial black college. Program is good from what I have heard, but the administration lack professionalism and they are not cohesive. Some of the thing that came out of their mouth and lack of knowledge for application purposes was astounding. I would also recommend applying to Emory and Mercer University, both of which I was accepted. Yes GSU is less expensive, but the genuine feeling of caring for my success and knowledge of programs from other schools were unparalleled to GSU. It was a blessing in disguise that had to be embarked on. I applaud you and wish you much success, but to be frank. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH GSU. Just food for thought.
