Hi! I'm applying to Georgia State University's ACE Track for Spring 2016. Anyone else out there also applying? :)
I'm hoping for the best because my gpa is on the lower end of the spectrum, but I got a 88 on my TEAS. I didn't miss a single question on the math sections and got in the 99th percentile for reading and writing. Good to know we get extra points for that on the TEAS. Thanks for the info BernieX
Hello ,
I am new to allnurses and decided I would join in on the thread to get some feedback. I am applying to the traditional track only for spring 2016 at GSU. I am super nervous because I have looked over the threads from past semesters and it seems as though my stats would be a little on the low side for those who are usually accepted, but I am hoping for the best because this is the only program I applied to. My stats are listed below along with a little info about myself. Good luck to everyone :)
Program GPA: 3.76
Science GPA: 3.64
TEAS: 82 (read:90.5, Math: 86.7, Sci: 79.2, Eng and Lang: 70)
No measurable volunteer experience but I do have 10 months experience as a phlebotomist.
@jazfurnur All we can do is hope for the best! Your stats look good though! I was also reading in past threads from the Spring and acceptance letters from GSU started going out around the first week of November. I'm kind of hoping that's the case for us. Either way, it's almost November so we should all know soon enough!
Thanks Hildog. I think I am just nervous about the whole volunteer aspect and whether my essay was good enough. Two pages was not enough space lol. Hopefully we start hearing something soon. I know on last year's thread some students started getting their letters as early as October 30th so fingers crossed. The wait is killing me!!!!!
Thanks! It said "Congratulations! You have been accepted into the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing & Health Professions' ACE nursing program beginning in the Spring 2016. You will be receiving a letter and acceptance packet with more detailed information including information on how to accept your offer, within the next 7 to 10 business days," and then information about how to contact Wanda Little.

I didn't know about the extra points for TEAS scores ranking about the 80 percentile. That makes me feel better about my TEAS score. I completely bombed the English portion. Bernie, do you happen to know if the percentile rank is within the national rank or program? My scores show both.
Also for anyone with a program GPA around 3.5, I have a reassuring story! I have two friends that applied to the program last March for admission into this current semester's program, Fall 2015. One had a 3.5 and the other had a 3.4, I'm not sure of their science GPA and know that one of their TEAS scores was an 83. They didn't get an acceptance email until the SUMMER, when they had applied in March. They were able to get in because enough people had either chosen to not go to Georgia State or didn't pay the required fees. All of this to say that if you're wait listed the first time around don't give up! I know two people that were able to get in from the wait list.
