georgia southern university accelerated BSN Fall 2020 start

Published

Hey everybody!

I was just accepted to the Accelerated BSN program at Georgia Southern University! I thought I would start a tread to see if anybody else has applied / been accepted or knows any more information on the program. I am curious how many people are in each accelerated BSN cohort, if all courses are taken with the traditional BSN students, what the NCLEX pass rate is for the ABSN program, and what some reviews people have heard on the program are.

Please let me know if you know any more info than I do!

Thanks!

Hey @ConcernedTiger !

Lynn said they approved this online course:

NURS 326: Pathophysiology from University of Northern Colorado and that it will count for pathophysiology. It looks like just little quizzes for each chapter and looks self paced!

Hey everybody!!

Since orientation got pushed back to August because of everything going on right now I thought I would write on here and see if anybody is looking for a housemate in Savannah for the school year! I currently live in Columbus GA (a few hours from Savannah) and I’ve been seeing a bunch of super nice apartments and houses for rent for the year that are a really good price especially if you’re splitting!
I will defs be taking a trip or two over to Savannah before the year starts to look at places to live and get that settled so if anybody lives maybe far away and can’t visit I’d be able to do all the legwork for that so you don’t have to worry about that!

let me know If you’re interested and you can find me on facebook my name is Lily Glading-DiLorenzo!

You live in Columbus? That’s I n s a n e so do I! I could potentially be interested if all the logistics look good, because I’m sure it’d be cheaper than living alone! I’m going to connect with you on FB.

I went ahead and took the GA Legislative Exam via ProctorU. If you study the provided study guide, the exam is easy. You need to have access to MyGeorgiaSouthern and have the GA Legislative Study Guide/Exam added to your Folio in order to test remotely. Hope you all are staying safe!

@tld415 No way! That’s crazy! Yeah find me on facebook and we can see if it would work out!! My names lily Glading-Dilorenzo on facebook!

@ga flamingo that’s awesome! How long did you study for the exam for? And I think I’ll be taking it remotely too was it expensive to take it remotely or how much per test was it?

thanks for all the help! Stay safe everybody and excited to meet you all! ?

Regarding the GA Legislative Exam, I just read through the powerpoints and focused on anything with a number, who does what among the branches of government, and which positions are elected vs. appointed. I believe it was $28 to take the exam via ProctorU. I think I paid a slight premium to take the exam that same day.

Hey guys!
I’m super excited for the program to start and I’m wondering if anybody is looking for a housemate! I know it’s much more cost efficient to live with somebody else. Message back if anybody’s interested!

thanks!

I would like to know this as well. Also, how long after submitting your application did they reach out to you guys for interviews?

Hey everyone! It is now 2022 and reading back through all the threads! I'm planning to finish out my pre-req's and apply to GS BSN program. I know there is a percentage of pre-req's that have to be done at GS. I was contemplating taking some courses at Savannah Tech, then transferring over. Have any of you had experience with this? Is it better to just get everything done at GS? I'm really just trying to find ways to save money. But it may not be worth it in the long run...

Hey! I completed A&P 1 and 2 at Savannah Tech and did the rest of the ABSN prerequisites at GSU with no issues. You may want to talk with an advisor regarding which BSN prerequisites will transfer and how many GSU credits are required. Best of luck to you!
