Georgia Perimeter Spring 2011

U.S.A. Georgia

Hi, Does anyone know when letters will be mailed out for spring 2011?

I'm so anxious!

What about the students who applied for spring 2010, do you remember when you received your letters?

Thanks a ton

No problem. For the group that is accepted to Spring 2011 - where do you live?

I am in Dunwoody.

Thanks for that information! I live in Atlanta, close to spaghetti junction, so I'm not far from the Dunwoody campus (where I attend now).

i live in marietta down 75n off exit 267...wondering if i will need to get a place close to school...when are the cpr cards and medical forms due?

gagirl88:

The paperwork says the cpr and medical form must be received by the Department of Nursing before the Nursing Orientation which is Dec 9th.

I wouldn't think you would need to move closer to the school campus from where you are. Depending on the semester, we will be on campus 3 days/week and we probably get out early enough for you to beat traffic.

Where is the nursing core classes taught? Clarkston campus? Just curious.

All of the classes are taught on the Clarkston campus with one skills lab (I believe) taught on Dunwoody campus. I believe the skills lab is a one day a semester type thing. I was told by one of the nursing faculty that they may move the nursing program to the Dunwoody campus, however that might not be for several years, if at all.

Great info kspunky. I wonder if that move to Dunwoody would ever happen. Not that it matters to me, im close to either one lol. I am applying to the nursing program Jan 2012. Just hoping to start some pre reqs at GPC this spring semester. Im so excited and cant wait to get the show on the road lol I wish you all the best!

Does anyone know if the book list provided is for all 4 semesters of the program? It certainly seems like it. :)

No, those are just for the first semester. Ouch! Good news is that we need less and less as the program progresses. I found one book on Ebay for about $6 so I snatched it up. I have been checking Craigslist and Ebay daily trying to catch them at a good price.

Amazon also has some good prices on the books - just make sure you are getting the right editions!

If anyone is still looking for books, and you live in Gwinnett county... I have some to sell. PM me and let me know what you need.

Has anyone heard if we will be using ipod Touches (or other) as first year nursing students starting in Spring 2011? I saw this article that overviews the pilot technology program in place this year for nursing and dental hygiene students. http://www.gwinnettforum.com/2010issues/10.0910.htm I was thinking of getting an ipod Touch, but don't want to carry around two of them if we are going to use loaners from the school's technology program.
