Gwinnett Medical Center RN Residency
Everyone who applied did not get invited - I know several people who applied but no invite. I heard it was a very limited number of applicants that were invited.I will be there tomorrow- we will see how it goes :) QUOTE=sj73201;6273962]Hi all, I was wondering who all had received an invite to the "Meet and Greet" at Gwinnett April 13? Is everyone that applied selected to attend? This is for the Aug 2012 residency. I am planning on coming from Chicago. Anyone else from far away? Typically, in the past, how many spots were available in comparison to the amount of applicants?

Georgia Perimeter's Nursing Progran
I am in my final semester at GPC . Go to Georgia Board of Nurses and look up NCLEX pass rates - we are tied for send place ( above Mercer, Emory, all the big schools.) In all the hospitals I have had clinical in, the staff has told me( and even one HR director at a big Atlanta hospital system) they would hire GPC student over ANY school because we are the most clinically prepared. The program is tough, but you will learn a lot and be very clinically sound. I am glad I chose it - first it was a money issue, but I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to succeed in nursing

Georgia Perimeter College ADN Program??
I am in my final semester at GPC. Has it been tough? Yes!! Have a learned a lot - OF COURSE! The professors are tough but willing to help you if you need it.Any hospital where I have done clinical has told me they would rather have a GPC student on the floor than any other school because we are more clinically prepared. Some of the things I was doing at the end of my first semester in clinical, some nurses told me they had 4th semester from another school that could not do it.We are tied for second in NCLEX pass rate in the state( go to Ga Board of Nursing to check it out) - the only school above us in a small school that only had about 50 students - we had about 450. You have an excellent chance of getting hired as a GPC graduate - our reputation is great in the field. If anybody has negative thinkgs to say about GPC, my guess is because they could not get through the program. It is a great school.

Nursing School Jitters
I am waiting to see if I got accepted- should know by the end of September. I just started as a CNA with hospice - I was already a volunteer for them and love it! So far I feel my experiences in hospice will be an asset for me when I get into nursing. It is very rewarding to be with people who are dying and be able to give them some dignity and comfort. Some people tell me they would never do CNA because of what is involved - I say it is a great experience.

TEAS Exam
I finished the exam and got the results. I got an 85.3 with the Program Mean being 65.1 and the National Percentile Rank at 98. I do not know exactly what that means but I think it is ok.
