Hey!

Keys to success was a very interesting day LOL. You will get a TON of information and it may seem very overwhelming, but it will help you overall. We had ours at Heritage Hall in the annex and you'll sit there and meet most of the professors. You might also meet counselors, and librarians, and some other people briefly. They'll talk about all the things you need to complete before the semester begins (make sure your shots are up to date, insurance, etc.) Then they'll take you through what your two years will look like by semester. They'll talk about uniforms and clinical, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Bring a pencil and paper and write stuff down so you don't forget. They'll also give you handouts to take with you.

If I remember correctly we got our schedule at the beginning of August before classes began. Class days are typically on Tue, Wed, and Thur, but it varies per week (because of sim labs, and clinicals) so don't take those as set days they really do vary. Sometimes we are there twice a week, sometimes it's everyday, and sometimes we don't show up that week.

Regarding classes, Nurs 1000 is a really easy course. It's online and won't take much of your time. You'll have discussion posts and online tests. It's not really anything to stress about. Nurs 1001 is a fun course. It's where you'll learn all of your assessments. Dr. Stover is predominately over that course and she is fantastic. She will give you all the tools you need to know to do well on that test. Pay attention to what she says you need to know and you will do fine. Nurs 1100 is a trickier course because multiple professors will teach a different concept and each professor has their own testing strategies. Some you could study off of the powerpoint alone, some will bold the important info, some will go off the powerpoint and the book. I would say do practice questions on the specific topics to help you see how questions are asked and what topics are covered and go from there. We had a second year mentor for us and they really helped us in regards to our test. We are in the works of being yall's mentor so when it comes closer to time we can further help you with testing

Awesome information! Hopefully, the covid stuff gets figured out because I am not looking forward to zoom classes and virtual clinicals! haha.

Hi and thank you for giving us so much Information. I do have one question are the semesters consecutive? I see a lot of schools don't allow students to take nursing courses during the Summer is this the case here as well.

I think CTC is the only school I've looked at that goes through Summer. Same amount of time, technically, but it does finish sooner.

I agree, it's very difficult to concentrate at home LOL. There's nothing like taking the information you learn from class and actually seeing it in clinical it's pretty cool.

Also, I wanted to add to save your money this Summer haha. During the Keys to success we discovered how much our books would cost and it is not cheap. You can't buy the books individually either you have to buy the bundle. It's around $1000 for all your books for both years. If you get financial aid you can use that to cover some of the cost but I'd thought I let you know that. You also have to buy your scrubs which isn't bad depending on how many sets you get. We have to wear our scrubs to class, clinical, and sim lab.

Hey everyone how did you do this semester? How are you sitting going into waiting for your letter?

I got A’s on my science courses and I ended up with an 87.something on my TEAS.

I hope that means I am in the program but you can never be too sure!

I want to wish you all Good Luck! In less than a month we will know if we are in or not! ?

Just a lot of waiting from here...

Even after finding out, there's still another 2 months before starting!

Do you use any outside resources like picmonic or nursing.com? If you can share, what books do we use in the program?

GOOD LUCK to everyone hoping to get into the program. Today is the last day to submit your TEAS scores.

I hope they send us our letters ASAP.

Hi everyone! I just graduated from GHC's nursing program. If anyone would be interested in buying some discounted scrub sets (size medium and large) email me at [email protected]. You can also email me if you have questions.

Thank you so much for messaging us Melinda! CONGRATS on your graduation!

Can you give us any advice for our upcoming journey or tell us what additional resources you used for studying?

Any advice in the classes? I would love to hear any knowledge that you have!

Hey Everyone!

Super late to this comment thread but I’m hoping that we hear something back soon. I emailed Chance a couple of weeks ago and he said that the committee was supposed to have met last week and if they did, then we would know sometime this week!

Hey Shelly!

This wilting is killing me too.! Thank you for the updated date for admission letters!

I scored an 85.7 on my TEAS, had a C in A&P1 Lec (with two attempts ?), a B in A&P1 Lab, an A in A&P2 Lec, an A in A&P2 Lab, a B in Micro Lec, and an A in Micro Lab. So HOPEFULLY those scores are high enough.

I got denied at KSU and got into Mercer’s Georgia Baptist. But Mercer is extremely expensive and I honestly can’t afford it. I want to get my MSN to become an NP, so I’m banking on GHC. Otherwise, I’ll be in SO much debt ?
