Georgia Highlands Spring 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone here is planning to apply to Ga Highlands Spring nursing program? I was planning to apply to Chatt Tech, where I am currently taking classes, but I just found out that they postponing their spring 2012 program until fall 2012! I really wanted to start this Jan., so I am going to try to get in at Highlands. I am worried though, b/c I still have 3 classes left to take (Nutrition, History, Humanities), which I am scheduled to take at Chatt Tech this fall. So I will have everything completed (as long as everything will transfer) before the program starts, but not before applying. I was told by someone in general admissions at Highlands that this was ok and would not bar my entrance, but I always worry about things like that so I was wondering if anyone else was in the same position and had any info?

I was also wondering if anyone had any info on what your scores should be in order to get in. I have heard it is a lot more competitive in the Spring. I have a 3.4 GPA, low b/c of screwing up when I was younger, Science and Math GPA is 4.0. Sat's from 10 years ago is 1310 (don't know what the readjusted score would be), and TEAS V is 91. I wouldn't be worried about applying for fall with my current scores, but I don't know if they will cut it for spring. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this. I would love to hear from anyone else applying for spring. With any luck, we may be classmates in the future!

hey everyone I applied to GA Highlands, but I am missing a pre-req, I am not sure if I will be able to get acceptedwithout the pre-req. It's the communications class, I so hope that I will be able to still hoping I get a chance...anywho...good luck to you all! Hopefully, we will be together next year!!

You could still get in. It depends on more than how many of the prereqs you've taken. You would still be able to take the communications during the spring semester if you did get accepted so just cross your fingers and good luck to you :-)

CoopRN2012, I did not have the Communications class, and I was accepted. I just took it online over this past summer. I just began my 3rd semester and graduate in May. Good Luck to you all!

Does anyone know when they will be sending the letters out? Last year it was the first week of November... hopefully it wont take that long this year!!

I don't even want to think about when letters will go out. I don't want to get so anxious that I'm running to the mailbox every day. I would rather it be a surprise oe way or the other.

ha i'm definately not running to the mailbox-way too busy for that mess. I was just wondering out of curiosity :)

From what I have seen from other posts here from previous semesters it seems like they send out letters at the same time each year so it will probably be the same time as last year. I guess we will have to wait and see. I'm excited to find out if I got in. I sent all my stuff in months ago so all I have been dong is taking other classes to pass the time. Good luck to you!

yes that's what i've noticed too. I finished all my classes so i'm just trying to work and stay as busy as i can! I'm excited to find out too- hopefully all our hardwork will pay off. Good Luck to you too!

Hey guys, I'm new on this site and I just posted on another forum but I had the samee exact questions. My TEAS score was a 70 and when I met with the nursing advisor she calculated it by only basing it on the Math and Science percentiles, and then the overall grade. The way she did it was pretty confusing, but Im just wondering if anyone knows how soon we will be notified if we got in or not?

I am in the same boat as you, I am missing a communications class as well. When I spoke with the advisor she informed me that I may take an exemption test. Best wishes!!

Congrats !! Dont mean to be nosey, but how were your TEAS grades when you applied?

Is not true, and 82 is a good score. All they care about is your overall work sheet score, they get all applicants and determine a cutoff score, if you are at or above cutoff your in.
