Georgia Highlands Spring 2012

Published

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone here is planning to apply to Ga Highlands Spring nursing program? I was planning to apply to Chatt Tech, where I am currently taking classes, but I just found out that they postponing their spring 2012 program until fall 2012! I really wanted to start this Jan., so I am going to try to get in at Highlands. I am worried though, b/c I still have 3 classes left to take (Nutrition, History, Humanities), which I am scheduled to take at Chatt Tech this fall. So I will have everything completed (as long as everything will transfer) before the program starts, but not before applying. I was told by someone in general admissions at Highlands that this was ok and would not bar my entrance, but I always worry about things like that so I was wondering if anyone else was in the same position and had any info?

I was also wondering if anyone had any info on what your scores should be in order to get in. I have heard it is a lot more competitive in the Spring. I have a 3.4 GPA, low b/c of screwing up when I was younger, Science and Math GPA is 4.0. Sat's from 10 years ago is 1310 (don't know what the readjusted score would be), and TEAS V is 91. I wouldn't be worried about applying for fall with my current scores, but I don't know if they will cut it for spring. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this. I would love to hear from anyone else applying for spring. With any luck, we may be classmates in the future!

Thanks! u too. It does but it really isnt that much if u think about it. Can all be done in a day or 2.

I got my acceptance letter yesterday!!! So excited!!! Just thanking the Good Lord :) Congrats to all of you!

congrats to all of those who got accepted!! :yeah: my friend and i applied to many schools ghc included. i got my letter of acceptance yesterday as well, but i will not attend ghc only b/c i got in @ another school that is closer to my home. anyhoo my friend however, did not get in :crying2:. her gpa is exceptional 3.4; she did well on the teas 86. the only thing that was missing in her app package was her sat score. she thought her as degree would substitute the sat. my question to those of you who applied- does the sat play an important role? it's been a while since she's been out of school. should she take the sat to help boost her chance of getting in? what do you suggest she do? she's a little bumped about it, and i hate seeing my feeling down. i can't even celebrate my great news with her especially when we've been at this since day one. any advice would help. even another school you think she might have a better chance of getting would be appreciate.

If you read the facts page on the GHC nursing website it tells you there that the SAT is required as well as in several other places on the GHC site. The only exception is if you have a bachelors degree already. Reading and asking questions probably would have saved her some heartache as well as time because her other stats do sound pretty good. Most schools require the SAT so she may want to take it whether she plans to reapply to GHC or not.

yes it does carry a lot of weight in the process. teas is 10% and sat is 10% of points. they most likely didnt even look at her points because her application was not complete. if she had a low score she wouldve still had a chance to get in. tell your friend overall teas doesnt matter, science and math only.

How old is everyone who got in?? just curious. im 26

hello,

this is my first post to allnurses. congrats to everyone who has been accepted to ghc. i have also been accepted into ghc. does anyone know of anyone already in the program that could give us some insight on how the program has been for them?

sat is a requirement not an option. it does weigh that much, you only have to score 850 or above, but you have to take!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know how long the nursing program is once you get in? I heard from a Rome admissions person that the Marietta campus doesnt have a nursing program but I thought I saw somewhere that is does?
