Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

Just curious, what will be the difference in your score?

Do you mean the difference in my score if I had counted the Maymester class? Hmmm.....good question. I don't know how many points it would've added to the admission score.
That's what I meant. I was just curious how much of a difference it would make in your score.

I recalculated my score with the new worksheet. My previous score was 1300 something, now it's 1231 I have all A's in the general classes, but I made a C in AP1. Oh well, I really hope I get in the fall class, but if not, I'm already registered to retake AP 1 in the fall.

#1: THE WAIT; last year i did get the acceptance letter the last week of May. However the program is supposedly going under changes because of the large amounts of people failing out in the third semester of the program. Also the worksheet for admissions has changed. They are having to do the scores differently which i'm sure is not helping with the response time. Also because so many people complete the worksheets incorrectly they are doing everybody's now from scratch this too is taking more time. From what i understand we should expect letters the end of June.
#2: I've read about several people questioning grades of C and such. SOOOMMMMEEE C's will not hurt you. However you need to be careful of what classes they are in. They should not be in the sciences, this hurts your chances. Don't think you automatically are out for the count if you have a C, though. I have THREE and was accepted my first time applying.
I have heard that GHC is hard. One of the nurses at Paulding Hospital warned me. He stated that most of the students pass the boards the first time because the students really know the material once finished.

Starrdan2- I answer phones. I direct calls around the hospital when you call the main number. I love it and work with some really great people.
My problem is that I have too many B's in the core classes. When I was a freshman, I did not even open a book. If they look from my junior year to now (postgraduate), my grades are mostly A's and one or two Bs. I PRAY they will notice that!

I am assuming you are currently a GHC nursing student. Any advice on the first semester that you can give us? Is there anything you wished you would've known before you started? Everything you can tell us about the program is MUCH appreciated. I think I speak for us all when I say that we feel like ducks out of water.
Have you all taken the regents test?
I took the Regent's test in March.
For all the GHC people that have responded to this thread so far, is Georgia Highlands College ADN nursing program your first choice?
