Georgia Highlands College Waiting Game!

U.S.A. Georgia

Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

Starrdan2, they must have just changed the worksheets b/c I just went and grabbed one I had from a couple of months ago and an A was given 4 pts and also your bio's were 40%. So, they must have drastically changed the worksheets.

That "competitive" admission score of 1160 that I posted earlier in this thread might not be right now, because I was told that before the worksheet was changed.

Starrdan....I was still typing my post during the time that you posted yours was miscalculated. Is your admission score of 1267 correct?

When they did last years program it was 4 points for an A. So this years scores are completely different from last years because they redid the whole worksheet. On last years sheet I would have had 1357, but on this years I have 1007.

Yeah, I thought my admission score was going to be higher than originally because they are now counting the biologies as 50 %.....but then I realized they dropped the points for an A to 3 instead of 4.

*$#%&$%(&

I am so confused now. I started panicking when I realized it was different. I did it all over again and I have a 1167. I have a 667 on the top....2A's and one B. In the core (category II), I have a 300. In Category 3, I have a 200. I am so sad. I bet I will not get in now. I just hate that I did not take my freshmen year seriously. I just hope they look at my experience. Also, in the past couple of years, I have only made one B. If I do not get in, I am going to have to retake some of the core classes.

My old score was 1492 and my new one is 1158. I'm worried....:uhoh21:

Hopeformelissa, what is your score now?

If they go by the new worksheet, my new score is a 1339. (It would've been a 1720 under the old worksheet.)

Don't panic just yet! That 1160 magic number was just the lowest score that they accepted last fall out of all of the candidates. But that was using the old worksheet too.

So, everybody's scores are going to be lower now. They will have to take that into consideration.

Holy $$$$, do you have straight A's?

lol Not quite....All A's and one B (The B was in that stupid psychology class. I took it as a DVD class...BIG mistake!)

We'll all be fine. Everybody's scores are going to be lower now because they are only counting A's as 3 points instead of 4. So, they will have to take that into consideration.

And don't forget that they also take GPA into consideration. I'm not sure how they do that though. I know that they say they give highest consideration to those with higher GPA's and higher admission scores, but I don't know what the formula is, if there is one. I was told that they only take into consideration your GPA in required classes. So, I guess if you changed majors or just have classes on your transcript that aren't required for the nursing program, they don't count????

Ya'll hang in there.

I just finished my last required class today! (I took the humanities elective as a Maymester class.) The nursing department said that they won't take into consideration that I've completed everything now since it wasn't finished by Spring semester. They haven't even started looking at the applicants yet, but they won't change it.

WTH?!?!?!?!??

So, my 1339 admission score should be higher. Some of the things that I've encountered trying to get into this nursing program are just plain unfair. :sniff:

In response to my post above, they finally told me why they won't let me count my Maymester class. It does make sense, so I guess I can't get too upset over it. They said that summer grades aren't actually due until August, which means that the instructors have until August to post them all. The nursing department obviously can't wait that long....so I'll just have to get over it. :p
