Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

 My head is already swimming and school hasn't even started....Wellstar interview, orientation, textbooks,stethoscope....and the list goes on........I feel your pain Stardan. :spbox:

My kids start back to school a week from Monday, so I'm looking forward to getting settled into a routine with them before we start our mayhem! lol

I have a feeling we are in for a ride....

Has anyone heard from Wellstar again? I was just curious? I was thinking that we were supposed to have an email from them by the end of the week.

When I talked to her earlier this week, she said she would send out an email "in a few days," so I'm not totally surprised we haven't received one yet.

I just got the panel confirmation from wellstar. It says the interview portion only lasts 20 minutes. The remainder of the time is the service assessment.:D

20 minutes sure is a long time though. I am SO scared!!!!!!! I need lots of rest this weekend.

Twenty minutes is a long while, but I keep telling myself that they need me just as badly as I need them and that there is no reason to freak-out because they want to see us succeed. :w00t: The main thing I will be striving for is to respond confidently to the questions.... So, I will be pretending that I am not nervous b/c I definitely will be.

Melissa, I haven't forgotten about giving you that book list. I left the paper work in my car and then sent it along with my children to their grandmothers house for the first half of the weekend. I'll be getting it back later this afternoon when they bring them back and I will try to get that on before Monday Morning. ( I'm usually not home much on Sundays and can't get to the internet until later at night)

No problem!!! I just appreciate you doing that for us.

Ok, on my textbook list, Dr. R marked the following for me:

Under the required textbook list, the ones that we will use immediately are the

*Potter & Perry Fundamentals of nursing package

*Health Assessment in Nursing by Weber.

*Also the course packet, but that will be online.

*She also advised going ahead and getting the Critical thinking and Clinical Judgement book.

She said that we will use the other required books eventually, but that they will not be needed at the beginning of the course and it would be ok to wait to buy them. The other books are just recommended and she said it was up to me whether or not I wanted to get them.

Thanks Freddysgrandmother......that helps me a lot!!

A friend of mine interviewed for the KSU program and one interesting question was "what would you do if you found a fellow nursing student cheating on a test" - most of the other questions were the same as best/worst qualities, why becoming a nurse etc. She said there were 3 interviewers, and each one got 2 questions. There were also easy ones like "tell me about yourself, your education, why changing to nursing at this point in your life". Hopefully it won't be too stressful!!

I picked up my uniforms and bought a stethoscope this weekend. It is now starting to feel so real.
