Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

I will see if I can find out something......
Hobo, that's why I chose wednesday too. I know that I will be so nervous if I had to wait any longer. I had a meeting on wed. but asked if I could change the date. Thank GOD they agreed.
Dallas, you are SO making me laugh about the awkward silence.

I've seen this question SEVERAL times now. How do you all plan to answer it. I'm curious, because I think it can be a very "abstract" question.
Why do you want to be a nurse?

I'm a WellStar employee, last name starts with B, got my call early yesterday morning, set up interview for Wednesday at noon. She said she will be sending out an email later this week with all the information, including exactly where to go. I'm planning on wearing a dress, but it is very conservative.
One think I've been taught about interviews is to not over-talk. Answer the question to the best of your ability, then stop talking - don't ramble. My best friend said when she interviews people, sometimes she will just sit there thinking about what question she will ask next, but the interviewee interprets that is an awkward silence, and feels the need to continue talking. Try to be comfortable during the silences and let the interviewer know you are ready for the next question.
"Why do I want to be a nurse?" I am going to relate my answer to a personal experience regarding a very sick family member; made me want to serve others and make a difference.

I have a question for you all about the med surg and fundamentals package. When I went to amazon to order the books for these, they seem more expensive than the bookstore prices.
For example, the fundamentals book cost 84.55, the SG 24.25 and the videos were over 100 dollars?????? Is anyone else finding the videos cheaper? Also, it states that the videos have been discontinued by the manufacturer. When I pull up the ISBN it states Mosbys nursing video skills - student version DVD 3.0: baisc, intermediate, and advanced skills. Am I looking at the correct videos?

Hey Guys, I happen to come across this page. I am about to enter my 2nd year at Georgia Highlands. The first year was nerve racking and I felt like an idiot when clinicals came around :) But, you WILL survive I promise!! I just wanted to extend an invitation out that if you guys have any questions, I will do my best to answer them! Good Luck to everyone and congratulations!
Welcome!!!! Thank you for letting us ask questions. I am sure we will have PLENTY. Are you going to the Rome Campus or Marietta Campus?
Thanks TJ!!!
I have a question for you already! LOL
I would rather just purchase, for now, the books that are used in the first semester. Which books did you use? When I asked one of the instructors, I was told "all of them".
Can you enlighten me on what I should buy for now. I'm assuming the Fundamentals text book, Taber's, Mosby's Drug Guide....
