Georgia Highlands College Waiting Game!

Published

Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

I'm a WellStar employee, last name starts with B, got my call early yesterday morning, set up interview for Wednesday at noon. She said she will be sending out an email later this week with all the information, including exactly where to go. I'm planning on wearing a dress, but it is very conservative.

One think I've been taught about interviews is to not over-talk. Answer the question to the best of your ability, then stop talking - don't ramble. My best friend said when she interviews people, sometimes she will just sit there thinking about what question she will ask next, but the interviewee interprets that is an awkward silence, and feels the need to continue talking. Try to be comfortable during the silences and let the interviewer know you are ready for the next question.

"Why do I want to be a nurse?" I am going to relate my answer to a personal experience regarding a very sick family member; made me want to serve others and make a difference.

Fantastic tips Haleybeth. :bowingpurI feel like you can never have enough good advice. Your fortunate to have a friend that interviews and can provide you w/pointers.....and thanks for passing them on.

I recieved a call today while at work and set up an interview for next Weds! I was planning on wearing slacks and a nice shirt...(not low cut).

I thought of another question they might ask.

How do you handle challeges with coworker and or patients..how did you resolve the conflict.

Why Wellstar?

Hey Guys, I happen to come across this page. I am about to enter my 2nd year at Georgia Highlands. The first year was nerve racking and I felt like an idiot when clinicals came around :) But, you WILL survive I promise!! I just wanted to extend an invitation out that if you guys have any questions, I will do my best to answer them! Good Luck to everyone and congratulations!

Which campus are you at?

I paid 140.28 for the fundamentals set, new through amazon. I had ordered the wrong one at first. It comes with 3 disks for the computer and 3 dvds.

Hobo....Thank you so much!!!! :icon_hug:

I was looking at the wrong one.

Hobo, how much did you pay for the med surg package? I am not sure which one on amazon is the package? I am so confused with the packages

Ok, Melissa, when I asked Dr. R, she marked off the books that I would NOT need immediately. The list is in my car, I will post it later tonight, but I know that MED-SURG was one that we would not need right away. I'll get back to you.
