Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:
Hey - I just wanted to let you know that I stopped by Savvy Scrubs in Rome after I registered, and Christy Smith (owner) was unbelievably helpful. She gives 20% off uniforms AND shoes for GHC students and does alterations and sews patches for free. She was just so nice and helpful, and I would HIGHLY recommend that you buy your uniforms from her. I got 2 scrub sets, jacket, lab coat, patches, and danskins shoes for $160. : )
Hi, I have been following your blogs. I am in the middle of my pre-req's at GPC. I read that GHC has a campus in Marietta and that only a certain number are selected. How are they selelcted? What is it based on??? Location, financial need?? Is this the campus that has the Well Star scholarships? How does that work? Can you go to the campus without getting a scholarship? I am making my list of where to apply. I live in East Cobb. That would be a perfect location, but wanted more information about it. I thought maybe you'd be able to help me!! Thanks in advance!!

If you send me your email address, I'll email you the WellStar info. And yes, you have to have the scholarship to go to Kennestone. Classes are at the WellStar Development Center.
So you have to have a scholarship to go to the Marietta campus? Is that based on financial need??? I appreciate your help!! My email is [email protected]

Rammer....first you have to apply to GHC nursing program once you are done with your pre-req classes. After you have been accepted to the nursing program, you can apply to do your classes at the Marietta campus. All students at the Marietta campus must be chosen after an interview process. All students accepted to the Marietta campus are committed by contract to the Wellstar program. I believe they pay for everything for your nursing program in exchange for 3 years of you working for them.

The scholarship that people are talking about with regard to the Marietta campus is the Wellstar program. If you are chosen to go to the Marietta campus, you will be given the "scholarship". Wellstar pays for everything.

I talked with the recent GHC nursing graduate and she just passed the boards. I am so excited for her!!! I can't wait until it's us!
I, also, asked her about the stethoscope. She said to just start with the 12 dollar one from HANS. But, to invest in a good stethoscope for 2nd year......you will need a good one for cardio.
