Georgia Highlands College Spring 2011

Hello! I am an applicant for the nursing program at Georgia Highlands College for Spring 2011. I was just wondering if there was anyone else on here that is hoping to be accepted to the college as well. Does anyone know the typical schedule, cost, etc.? What were the average scores on the nursing worksheets that were accepted last spring and for this coming Fall 2010 semester?

I called yesterday, too. 1:40 for mine.

I read all my packet and started on it. Did the insurance thing yesterday (I don't have insurance b/c my husband just left a company who didn't offer it and starts his new job Monday, so I'm happy to have the school option). Going to get my photo tonight or tomorrow. Health Department and Lynn's on Tuesday. The list of things to do was a bit overwhelming at first, but once I broke it down and prioritized, it seemed managable. All I have to say is thank God for financial aid and student loan options. I hear the books for first semester are in the $1200 range.

C=RN is going to be soooooooo hard for me. I have been trying so hard to wrap my head around that since my friend who started in Fall told me...he knows my "A is the only acceptable way" mentality.

Hello everyone! I just got my acceptance letter today! Words can't describe how excited I am, and I can't wait to meet those of you who will be joining me in Spring 2011!! All the forms that came along with acceptance letter are a little overwhelming, but I'm sure I can handle it. Congrats to everyone!

I'm hoping the books are one's my wife already has or are good enough to be honest. I'm applying for financial aid, but so far haven't been eligible.

I am so excited to meet you guys! I am going to get my pic done today and hopefull mail out that paper. If not, I will send it out on Mon.

I forgot the office closed at 12 on friday too. I will have to call Mon to set my appt also.

How is the worksheet score calculated?

It's calculated on 12 classes, your grade, and your # of attempts, your SAT/ACT score and that's pretty much it. Next Fall the TEAS is going to be mandatory before apply and part of that score. Should make it more competitive.

The worksheet as it was used for Spring 2011 is at http://www.highlands.edu/academics/divisions/healthsciences/nursing/nurseworksheet.pdf with instructions on how to calculate your score.

Please remember that the lowest score for Fall is usually lower than Spring because there are 160 slots in the Fall vs 40 in the Spring.

Hi Everyone!

I'm a Fall 2011 GHC hopeful. Actually GHC is my top choice right now. Maybe someone ccan give me some insight/advice.....

I have a BA in biology from a previous college, with a 2.86 (blah)Fall 2009 I took stats (A) and Human development (B) so far a 3.5 in my post-bacc ....all i have left to take is the Anat and phy 1and2 bc my college didn't offer a two part course, so lucky me i have to retake it. So my question is "what are my chances?:idea:"

1. Previous BA 2.86

2. post-bacc 3.5

3. anat 1 and2 - (expecting A,A or lets say worst case A,B)

Micro- C

All of mhy other pre-recs A's and B's

Also I haven't taken nutrion yet, but online it states that only classes needed to apply are the biologies, math, english, so i'm assuming since i'm applying for fall 2011 i can take nutrition he following summer?

So far i have 1100 points on my worksheet thanks to my BA.

Also I just completed a CNA program so i'm looking for employment at the hospitals, preferably Wellstar, which would be awesome bc i would like to apply to the wellstar tuition program/marietta campus, i live less than 5 mins away from the marietta campus:lol2:
