Hello everyone. I just applied for admissions for the fall 2011 program a couple weeks ago.
Has anyone esle applied as well? If so what is your GPA and ACT score if you don't mind me asking.
My gpa is a 3.0, or higher because I have grades that have not posted, and I took the ACT over 13 years ago with a score of 18.
Thanks
That depends on how (and if) they decide to do it.
For several years, 140 students would be accepted into the GHC program. WellStar would then send applications to the students they were interested in and select 28 students to receive their scholarship (which is actually a loan program, not a scholarship). Those 28 students would be at the Marietta campus, along with 12 other students selected based on distance.
This past year (my class), we were informed that WellStar had chosen not to offer the scholars program. All 40 of us were selected for the Marietta campus based solely on distance. At the end of our first semester, WellStar came and said they would offer the program after all and invited us to apply. About 5 of us applied; 4 of us are in the program.
So, how the Marietta students are determined for your class will probably depend on how WellStar decides to handle the program this year.
This maybe a silly question but does anyone know the type of stethoscopes they use in the program? The reason I'm asking is my mom works for a doctor who will let me order one through her office for a discount but she just wants to make sure we order the correct type. ( they figure if I need to buy one might as well get a decent one). Thanks!
Not sure if there is a specific requirement or not. I am purchasing a Lidman Cardio double barrel dual lumen tubing. I want to be in the ER. I found that at allhearts.com Littmann Master Cardiology stethoscope or the Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope.

Check it out. They give video's and even engraving if you like.
Tuesday. Maybe we will get news today. I am so nervious. I won't be home to check my mail today so i will be stalking this site for information to see if anyone got it.
Good Luck everyone. :)
Yay!! I'm glad the letters have at least been mailed! I'm hoping for good news for everyone on here. Thanks for the stethoscope info as well. I'll have pay for some of my stuff out of pocket, so I figure if the doctor that my mom works for is willing to let me order one using her discount, might as well go ahead. I just wanted to make sure it didn't have to be a particular type or brand.

I was told the students who are on the Wellstar scholarship program automatically get the Marietta campus... of the 40 seats that are left, they pick based on how far you are from the Rome campus. Scores don't matter... just distance.
