Hi guys,

I will be applying to the fall 2011 program next week! has anyone taken the TEAS V yet? I know we are only required to take it and the scores shouldn't determine whether we get it or not, but was wondering how much of this was true?

Where did you hear that the scores don't count? I was under the impression that they were changing the whole scoring sheet. When I went to the orientation thats what the RN adviser said....but then again she said the new sheet would be up in January..

I was told that specifically by the advisor when I went to apply to the school.

She said they are still going through a testing face (as far as with the TEAS requirements).

So, they would require for us to take it but the actual score would not determine our entrance to the program for now... of course that will change later, but not for the fall 2011 class

How did you guys know that the TEAS test was a requirement for the Fall 2011 application process? When I looked into applying to GHC, it was not mentioned anywhere that it was a reqirement. I happen to come across this thread and what I read made me nervous. After a few phone calls/e-mails to the college I found out on Thursday of last week that our test results from the TEAS have to be in by 1 April. Guess who is jumping thru hoops this weekend to study for the TEAS test next week?!?!

TigerRN,

I am finishing up my second semester of the nursing program and am taking Chem this summer because I haven't had Nutrition or FCCS yet (Chem subs for both of these and will help me on my way to my BSN). You don't have to have everything done as long as you start in the fall so you have summer to finish up, but keep in mind that it lowers your worksheet score a little bit for each class that's missing.

Hello,

I just turned in my application to Hope today - in person since I kept forgetting to put it in the mail.

I am not sure if the TEAS was required for the app yet, but I had included it and she said that was good that I put that and my DD2214 in the packet (prior military medic certfication). However, I took the TEAS IV at KSU last summer and have not yet taken the TEAS V so I am not sure if that will be a problem.

I hope you all get in, she said the last Fall admission scores were above 950 or so, Spring was more competitive but they also only take 40 students in the Spring and 140 in the Fall so the Fall scores are a bit lower for the cut off point.

My grades are not great, I had a few Cs that I had to re-take the courses and got A/B the next time around - I don't guess that the worksheet cares that I was in Afghanistan trying to finish A&P online =) But my prior bachelor's degree should help the score a bit too. I calculated it as around 1000, so my fingers are crossed that will be good enough this round.

I live in Paulding County, and want to get into the Marietta class, but Rome would be ok too.

Hey letsgomets,

my score is between 1080 or 1150 depending on if my French class will satisfy the humanity part. Do you think I have a shot of getting accepted to this semester?

Hello,

I'm new to this site and I was wondering if anyone knew if Georgia Highlands only counts on the score worksheet classes we have completed at the time we apply, or do they calculate Spring grades (when we get our grades)even though we don't have our grades at the time we apply??
