Is anyone applying for Fall 2010 admission to this program?

well, once again got another rejection. Congrats to every one on here that got good news. I never think my time will come. If you all that got in don't mind, what were your science grades? and overall scores? I am so sick of every school being so generic and saying that "there was a high applicant pool this time..." I am so tired of being disappointed. I am done with my prereqs. so I will just keep applying everywhere. It sucks because I retook my A&P 2 and my grade isn't posted yet on my transcript, so they didn't see my B, they are seeing my C from KSU from like 6 yrs. Do you guys know if its possible to get accepted with 3 B's in the science part? I guess I will try for Spring. I did talk to Hope Weaver and she said to reapply if I didn't get in and they will see the new B. I guess she already knew. Life is so disappointing. :sniff:

This was my 3rd time applying. And actually I have 2 B's and a C in my top 3 Bio's (A&P 1/2 and Micro). My GPA was ok, not amazing but my SAT was pretty high which helped I'm sure.

So keep applying! And yes, its obviously possible to get in w/ 3 B's (and a C). As far as my overall score I honestly don't remember. But keep applying!

Thanks GaLara, I have actually applied to like 9 schools and been rejected from every one!! I don't get it. We have the same grades but I guess it was my SAT. It does say that I was qualified and that they had to reject qualified applicants this time. So I dunno. But congrats to you! I can't wait for my day to come. I guess, what ever school I am supposed to get into is the one to wait for. But thanks for the encouragement. Oh and my SAT is a 920 and my GPA is only a 3.02 for highlands. I don't know why. B/c for KSU its a 3.2. but who knows.

Nrice: Oh, that stinks! But you cannot take this personally. I read a statistic that in the US there are approx. 30,000 QUALIFIED applicants turned down every year. There just are not enough professors, funding and seats! It's not you! You're being very proactive and not giving up, which is smart because it will happen for you if you keep improving your numbers! I just got turned down after interviewing for fall 2010 at KSU although I got in at Emory but did not receive enough financial aid to attend there. So I did what you have done and looked at what needs to go up. I just re-took my TEAS from an 81 to a 90 and hopefully this time (spring) I will get into KSU. It's a numbers game and you have to have the numbers because if you don't, someone else definitely will. Don't fret and just keep planning!!! This time, I'm also applying to GSU as well because it's usually not a slam dunk! No one knows how hard it is to get in until you're a great student and a nurse at heart and you're rejected! Not fun, but it will make us stronger and very appreciative!:redpinkhe

My packet did not have any information about Wellstar in it. But nowhere in the packet does it say what campus I got accepted to, but on score it does say Marietta campus. So I guess that is the campus I will be attending.

nrice, keep trying and do not give up.! I know it is hard, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I received your private message but I cannot respond, since I have not posted enough yet. But about Mercer I am wait listed.

thanks you guys! That means alot to me. :) but I am not giving up. and Keno2 how in THE world did you manage to get a 90 on the TEAS? I honestly HATE the TEAS. I have taken it 3 times and keep getting a stupid 76. For KSU I got an interview for last spring and got rejected. Didn't get an interview for summer or fall of this year. But I haven't sent Fran my new transcript yet. What you said about the nurse at heart, that is EXACTLY how I feel. Did you get good news to Highlands? Thanks so much for the encouragement. I just realized though, that I can't apply for spring at Highlands b/c I can't go to Rome. I have to get Marietta. I live in Cumming which is WAY too far from Rome. I don't know I think that it would be like 2 hrs. one way. That would just be too stressful trying to get to clinical. But anyways, thanks again. and I am not giving up. It WILL have to happen one day. I may be like 35 haha..but it will happen.

Nrice: Oh, you're that young? Good!!! I'm much older than you! You've got time!!! What I did for the TEAS is finally stop avoiding the math. I had, of course, prepared for the math but not really as much as I should have. Math has never come naturally to me but anyone can do it (I got an 86%). Then I still figured I failed the science section (because we know how kra-kra it is!) but I got an 86% and w/ an 88% in grammar/English and a 97% in reading, it was a 90.6%! That is what I needed! I think if I competed again w/ the same numbers, it would still be "no". Something had to change.:uhoh3:

W/ your B's in place, it's sounding much better for you wherever you apply, but if where you apply uses the TEAS (and GSU uses 5.0 now and KSU is going to that in the fall) it needs to be high. Good luck and don't stop until you get all of your scores where they need to be. F. told me that by the time you're interviewing everyone is w/in very small percentage points from each other. I competed w/ a 3.84, 3.4 math & science, 81 TEAS, 4 B's 3A's for top 7 (& I thought "my scores aren't bad....not headturning, but not bad) and did very well on the interview & it was a resounding "No". Had I gotten A's in org, and A&P's instead of B's, I might have made it, & I know plenty who cranked out the A's and my hat's off to them). No, I didn't apply to GHC because I need a 4 year degree.

Congrats to the GHC students that made it!! My friend just got in & is very excited!!:yeah:

For those students accepted did you notice on the form we must send back accepting our spot, we have to have 2.5X 2.5 passport photos send back with the form? But normal passport photos are 2x2, do you know any locations we can get one that size, I called Wolf Camera today and they said they do 2x2.

In the past, I heard ghc accept the 2x2. Check before you head out to wolf.

I noticed in my packet that I have a sheet to fill out for vaccinations clearing me for clinicals at Floyd Medical Center...does that most likely mean I'm going to the Rome campus? Did you guys get that too?

I received that paper for the Floyd Medical Centern in my packet as well, but I thought I would be attending the Marietta campus, so I do not know now.

What stethoscope are you guys going to be using? I was thinking about getting a littmann.

Oh so maybe there's still hope for me to be at Marietta! Littman is definitely the best. I have a stethoscope but may see if my parents want to upgrade me as a "congratulations" gift, lol.
