Asking for opinions and chances about getting in BSN program Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello!
I took my TEAS and I scored 69.3 and my GPA is 3.64. I’m applying for the BSN programs at GGC and GSU. Does anybody think I have a chance of getting in for any of these programs?? I believe my TEAS score isn’t competitive enough since the English portion was a bit tough for me since English isn’t my mother language, but looking at my GPA and some volunteering hours..

Please share opinions and experiences, thanks in advance!

That’s great. Can I ask what are your stats?

Hey I don't know my GPA in specific but I think it is around 3.2-3.3 but that GPA is not the nursing GPA it is my GPA from my old school. I can let you know what my new GPA is when the nursing advisors tell me.

Hey, yeah hopefully your GPA will be great. I got frustrated and keep calling nursing advisor at GSU to ask random stupid questions every day. ?

Yeah, I was told by admissions that it usually takes 15-21 business days but that seemed like a stretch to me. I submitted everything by the tenth so hopefully I hear something within the next few days to give my professor enough time to do a letter ? Were you notified by email? I keep refreshing the status checker

No I found out via checking the application status. I was told "10 business days". I think the fact that I was not playing with admissions and I kept calling/did everything to make sure all the documents or transcripts were in the system so that it would not delay me applying to the actual nursing program.

The deadline was couple months ago. Don’t remember exactly, I think it was July. You need to be accepted to GSU downtown first before you are able to apply for nursing program. Even I graduated from Perimeter college GSU,I had to transfer to downtown to apply for nursing program. So you need to talk to advisor or called to nursing department of GSU downtown to ask about your case; the phone number is located in the main page of nursing program page, all the way on the bottom( last digits 1000). Anyway, do you have student ID number?

Btw, this ended up not being true ? I got accepted to GSU on the 21st of September and I'm submitting my nursing application today! I already had my recommendations in line. And I just got an 86.7% on the TEAS today so hopefully we hear back from them soon!!

I took my TEAS 38 days ago and got an 80.7. Took it today and got an 86.7. I only went up one point in reading, and I literally got the exact same passages and order of passages! I got the EXACT SAME SECTION. For language, I went up from a 63 to an 83.3. I suggest watching Carolyn McAllister's videos on Youtube for clarity, and overall go and join the "ATI TEAS 6 Test - Study Group" on facebook! It's the one with 41K members. This group helped me out tremendously because everyone posts helpful resources. Once accepted into it, check out the Elizabeth Tran files for English. That file helped me out tons. Also, make sure to know your prefixes/suffixes, and do plenty of practice questions to help familiarize yourself with the exam. I did as many free questions as I could find online and took book Practice test B & C that I paid for. Look at the feedback, and focus your studies. Also, the Mometrix book helps out a ton because of the practice exams and explanations. Always read the explanations as to what is correct/incorrect and why; it'll stick with you! Good luck!

Oh sorry for the wrong information. I just said whatever it said on the GSU website

That’s good! What was on the science section? I take mine tomorrow!

I got an 87.2% on the science section. It was a lot easier than my first attempt! My first attempt literally had like 5 or 6 questions on independent vs dependent variables and scientific reasoning that stumped me. It also had like 3 questions on the periodic table. Today I only had one on the periodic table (asked which element in the answer choices had the smallest atomic radius -- no table provided so I had to guess), and very easy questions on experiments. I also had 2 questions asking which organ secreted bicarbonate, and another literally saying, "since the pancreas releases a bicarbonate solution..." like wow. I finished that section with like 35 minutes left. Good luck tomorrow! You'll do great.

Wow nice this will definitely help me thanks a lot!

Hello Everyone,

I am a LVN in California interested in moving to Georgia.

Can any nurses in Georgia share your LVN to RN journey with me.

Any information will help.

Thank you
