Hey! Just wanted to start a forum for anybody applying to this program for fall 2018. I have everything turned in and I'm just waiting for it all to process on the portal. I retook some science course after I dropped out of school for three years but managed to repeat all my classes with an a so my science gpa is looking like a 3.7 but it will be a 2.9 if it is averaged but I am not sure. I have 400 hours of volunteer service. 2 years of CNA experience. 1 year of managent experience ans I got an 85.3 on my teas first try. Feel free to share your stats or your anticipation! If I'm accepted I also would like to know my future colleagues :)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! how did you find out? letter in the mail, or email, or on the portal? I should be hearing soon and I'm sooooo nervous. I also really wanted/needed a scholarship (don't we all? ha.), but I haven't completed enough of the science prereqs and didn't really get super super high on the TEAS. I think I might be at a disadvantage for scholarships. I think if I had time to wait it out another year and get all As in the science prereqs and take the TEAS again and score higher, I might be in line for some money. But I want to be a nurse before I'm 85. ha. congrats on getting in! hope to meet you in the fall!
Thank you! I didn't get an email or physical mail, but I have been checking my portal every day and saw that they updated their status. Just do a good, heartfelt essay and you should be good to get in! My grades and my TEAS scores weren't perfect but I did write a pretty good essay if I do say so myself.
Stats:
TEAS 86.7
GPA: 3.7
Transfer GPA: 3.83
Science GPA: 3.4
I had volunteer hours from a hospital/another charity.
I have work experience as a shift lead at a restaurant.
