Hello Everyone,

I am gearing up to apply for Fall 2009 at Georgia Baptist. I wanted to know if anyone else is applying there for Fall 2009 as well, or if there is anyone who has already been accepted and wouldn't mind sharing their credentials (i.e. overall gpa, nursing gpa, science gpa, if all prerequisities were completed, net score etc.) I am just trying to get a feel for the type of applicant they are looking for. I received my acceptance letter about a week ago. It was a pleasant surprise, considering I had been nervous about having to retake the NET. My reading comp was 64% the first time around, so my admissions counselor suggested I try again. I was a little reluctant, because I thought the structure of the test was just not a good way to measure anyone's capabilities. Anyways, I bumped my score up to 76% and obviously, that was the only hold up on my acceptance because they sent the letter as soon as my NET scores from last month came in. So now, I'm just praying that I am able to get fin aid, since this is a second degree for me. I wish everyone luck because it's really nerve wracking, waiting after you had worked so hard taking the pre-req's and all!

oh and about fin aid, so far i have not been able to get any kind of scholarship besides hope. I will be covering the rest in loans i guess

Ouch...I've had no luck finding outside scholarships either. I am just praying for a service cancelable loan and whatever federal loans I may still be eligible for to cover living expenses.

Hey!

They are waiting for my Spring grades!! I'm in there if there's still spots. I just up I'm not on the waiting list. That would really suck. I was trying to avoid that but they wouldn't make a commit.

Good job kels83. I am patiently waiting for my acceptance letter. I didn't know that GBCN maintained a waiting list. Yes the waiting is nerve racking indeed, but we shall see. Good luck to everyone still waiting and congrats to those who have made it in already. Happy money hunting!

If you don't mind me asking, what was your gpa and NET score? Congratulations on your acceptance!

I don't know my exact GPA because I had transcripts from 3 schools, but it was probably between a 3.2 and a 3.5 with them all averaged together. My composite on the NET was 87% with a 97 in Math and 76% reading comp. As of last week, I am done with all pre-req's except Nutrition and Abnormal Psych. If you are have lots of courses still unfinished, that's probably what they are waiting for...I was only taking A&P II and Development this past semester. Hope this helps!
