  1. I volunteer in the ER at Grady. I am done with nursing school in May, then I might work in the ER.
  2. I go to school in Atlanta at Mercer University. I am living in Queens for the summer. I am so excited for this externship
  3. I went already. Whats your name? My name is Matt Fisher.
  4. I have no idea honestly. I live in atlanta and I am going to to NYC in 9 days to check out the hospital. I start my externship june 7. The nurse recruiter is very nice.
  5. Anyone got a job as a student nurse extern at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC? I did and I wanting to talk to others that have too.
  6. Well, unless they change the format, You have 4 classes. 302- fundamentals 6 hour lecture split for two days per week, minus the first week, where it will be almost everyday 304- patho/pharm- 5 hours once a week. 301- intro to nursing profession 2 hours once a week 303- community health nursing 3 hours once a week
  7. 1st semester you have about 6 hrs per week plus lab time that is about 4 hours per week for the first half of the semester. Right now, for second semester we have two clinicals, one for med surg and one for mental health. those range from 6-8 hours each
  8. There is no option really on who you get. We have lecture all together for all the classes. During clinical you will have a clinical professor, which will be chosen by the staff based on where you live.
  9. My name is Matt Fisher. I dont have a family, but I know people that do in the program. It is doable. But, just know there will be times that you will be busy 8-5 monday through friday.
  10. You can. I took mine at GSU. Mercer is a great school, you should come here
  11. Nope. I am going on the 18th
  12. Here is the email she sent me Hi Matt, All that you heard is true..especially the part about the being a great instructor..ha-ha. I am very flexible, so please check your calender and let me know what works and I'll go ahead and get you scheduled. (As well as any of your friends that need the class. I teach full time.. so really let me know.. I also teach in the evenings as well as mornings. I start classes as early as 7am and as late as 7pm. and you get your AHA card at the end of class. The class is $55.00 and is excepted in schools and at all hospitals, unlike most others.. such as American Red Cross, plus the class usually takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Let me know if you have any other questions, I look forward to hearing from you, PS. I was born in Ft. Lauderdale. I have been in Atlanta for 12 years though
  13. I found one for 55 bucks for 2 hours. I found a lady in Roswell that other GBCN and GSU students have used. She is very flexible too.

  15. Congrats on Mercer! I will see you in the Fall. By the way, you do need a PDA of some type. I got an ipod touch this weekend.
