Purely anecdotal but I knew a friend who attended and thought the program and its support was lackluster. I understand this is par for the course for many in online NP schools, however I found it troubling since the cost is so high.
Finding preceptors was also challenging as per usual.
I'm currently in Georgetown's FNP program and I am more than impressed. The program is rigorous (as it should be) and the live class sessions are informative and of high quality. All of my professors have been excellent. I have had more than enough support thus far, but then again, I haven't had any major issues either. I am only in my second semester so I can only base my opinion off of the past 16 weeks, but so far so good. I have heard both good and bad as far as clinical placement goes. I have yet to start practicums, but hoping that my connections with several practicing NPs will work out for the majority of my placements.
Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck with your decision!

The AGACNP program is six semesters, do you know if that includes summers? They also do a 3-5 days skills portion every semester, do you do that also? How is it? What type of applicants get accepted in your opinion?

I know the FNP program includes summer's with 3 week breaks between semesters. The FNP program also only has two on campus intensives (OCI) which are 4-6 days long and I have yet to go to my first OCI.
I'm sure there are differences in what they are looking for in applicants for each program, but student support told me that almost all accepted students have a 3.5 GPA or above. Make sure you have a strong purpose statement and answer all of the questions in your video. I would also suggest having someone look it over before submitting. Highlight your reasons for choosing Georgetown- I explained why I felt it was important to attend a highly regarded university that would prepare me well for practice.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
I am in the middle of semester 3 (part-time FNP) and it is academically challenging and the coursework is difficult. That being said I feel like I am learning a wealth of information and that my education will provide me a solid foundation. The support is beyond amazing. Anytime I email my student coordinator she emails me back almost instantly. There have been a few incidences when I have had to deal with various support personnel and they somehow always manage to make me feel like I am the only student they are working with. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this program.

Hey everyone,
Has anyone applied or attended Georgetown University? I am in the process of applying to the AGACNP program for fall 2016- so far I am impressed. I requested more information and an admissions counselor called me first thing Monday morning; I requested info over the weekend. I also applied to UPENN in October and am still waiting on a decision- and not a lot of communication from the admissions department like the communication from Georgetown. This program has a 100% pass rate for boards. The way they have their online program set up is very impressive- to be able to pick times to "sit" in class and do be able to do it all from home. The on-campus portions are always scheduled on Friday, Saturday, Sunday I was told- which makes it easier when working full time. I have compiled my application, I just need to finish the video essay which I will complete tomorrow. Does anyone have any insight into this program or experience in this program? I know it is expensive, but that's ok. Thanks your taking the time to respond!
