I am super excited because I just received my acceptance letter into GU's FNP program starting in Sep 2015!!!! Just hoping to connect with anyone who is in the application process or who has also been admitted!
Hello, Congratulations on your acceptance.. I am curious to how you are finaciially going to handle the $77,000 dollar tuition? (It may not be exactly this but it is from what I remember) Then they ask you to fly up there once or twice so thats cost of two trips…yikes!!!
I am curious thats all.
Not thinking about it as a debt I cannot overcome - either through a great position once completed or working somewhere that qualifies for loan forgiveness... until then -> student loans, personal loans, work and scholarship applications - Probably no different than everyone else that goes!
Hi everyone, excited to hear about all the people who have been accepted into the September 2015 semester starting in the Fall. I am hoping to be accepted and have my fingers crossed! I was going to apply for the Spring Semester initially but when I called and spoke to the University they told me they were still accepting for the Fall so I am hoping to be accepted as well. I would love to know from those of you who have been accepted what you GPA's were if you don't mind sharing and also how you felt about the Statement of Purpose and Video Essay. I want to get accepted so badly, as there program was just beyond comparable to others. I am hoping to find out in the next week or two if I got in. Keep your fingers crossed for me please :)
Thank you so much
Hope to be chatting more with you all soon. :)
Hi Chelcie82,
Ill be crossing my fingers for you!! My GPA in undergrad was a 3.9. That being said I think Georgetown has a pretty great reputation for looking at the whole picture when it comes to the candidate. I've been a nurse for four years in the hospital setting and I know experience is important also. I found the personal statement to be pretty standard from an application perspective but did find the video essay intimidating at first. My admission counselor made me feel a lot more comfortable and gave me tips that I think made me feel less nervous. Having someone else read the questions off camera was a life saver. I hope that helps answer some of your questions. Good luck- I really hope you become part of our cohort!!!

@ashleyrosesf
I am considering applying for the part time FNP program but I have postponed it due to a new job. It has a set schedule. I also live in california.
If you don't mind me asking, how does the curriculum look like? Is it on certain days? Can you watch videos of classes if you are scheduled to work that day, etc?
Thank you! And congrats to everyone!
Hi chessie,
Gtown offers rigorous FNP program that lasts 19 months FT and 24 months PT. Each class meets once a week for 2 hours for a "live session" where all the classmates and instructor meet online and review materials. Schedule is not fixed as you have the options to sign up for classes that host these live sessions during your convenient time slots. They also have recorded lectures/materials online accessible 24/7 I believe. You'd have 4 clinicals, each has a different focus (wellness, peds, chronic/multiple diseases, etc). The program requires 2 on-campus intensives where you'd show up at Georgetown to do labs and solidify your assessment skills.
Call them and talk to an admission advisor. They are awesome in responding to your questions! Good luck! :)
