Georgetown Online FNP Fall 2013 Applicants

Published

Hello everyone,

I have not been able to find a thread for Fall 2013 Georgetown applicants! So I am hoping that I did not look over any, and if I did, please let me know so that I can join in.

I applied to the Georgetown's on-campus FNP program and received an email last night that they are no longer offering on-campus instruction, but that my application will still be looked at normally for their online program.

Has anyone heard anything about their application process? How is everything going for anyone?

Hope to hear from some of your soon!

Jenny

Do u mind me asking what types of things they asked in the interview???

The interview was VERY laid back. She basically asked me about myself.. It was more of a conversation than an interview. We talked about my fav classes in my undergrad and why I want to go to FNPschool right away. I just graduated with my BSN. We talked about everything I wrote in my essay, life, my parents, everything! She said they do these interviews to put a face to an application. She ended it by giving me a hug :)

I do not know if this is what all of them say, maybe they do not release this online?

Any input on this from already accepted or declined students? Do you recall what your online profile stated?

I guess I will know by 8 am tomorrow. Clearly a decision was made. I have my fingers crossed for the best. Whatever will be will be.

Hey Rachel, I received the same message, i don't think I got into the program. How soon afterward do they tell you the decision?

Congrats! Are you in the part-time or full time program. I am in the part-time program. So excited!

I applied for the acute care np program at georgetown for sept 2013. as of yesterday afternoon online it said "please contact admissions office" does anyone know if that's good or bad? I guess I will have to wait until Monday morning to find out if I got in.

I'm not sure what that means, I hadn't checked mine for a few days and then got an email (I think it was an email) telling me that I wasn't accepted. When I later talked to my admissions counselor he told me that even though my over all GPA was good my "science" GPA wasn't high enough so I needed to take a graduate level science class or two to prove I would be able to keep up with the program. I haven't enrolled in these as I am waiting to hear from a couple of other schools to see if I got in there or not. Good luck to you hopefully it is good news!

What were your science grades like? This is my only real fear as well.

I'm curious as well. I plan to apply for Spring '13 for the CN/WHNP program. I'm nervous however that I may not be competitive enough by GPA (3.6) or science GPA (3.5). Not to mention, although I'm a L&D nurse, in my city we don't have Midwifes practicing in private hospitals so I have not been able to shadow a NP in my field. I have however, been shadowing a FNP for the last year and a half and she wrote me a letter. Ugh I'm sooooo nervous that I won't be competitive enough for grad school. BTW, did you guys figure out what "contact the admissions office indicates?"

Hello everybody,

I am starting the FNP online program at Georgetown University this Fall 2013 ( Sept 2, 2013) and I am looking for other students that will be attending the orientation session on Sept 8-9.

This website has been very helpful for me when I was doing my BSN and I hope it will be a great tool for my MSN as well.

Regards,

Caterina

I am starting as we'll in the fall, but I believe the program starts on the 9th and the orientation session is online and will be available to complete online on our own time on the 2gu platform. If there is an orientation session I have not heard about it.

I was told to be on campus on Monday Sept 9 and Tues sept 10. I was sent the hotel and direction to reach campus. I got the package in the mail with my acceptance letter. Hope this help.
