  1. I applied for the acute care np program at georgetown for sept 2013. as of yesterday afternoon online it said "please contact admissions office" does anyone know if that's good or bad? I guess I will have to wait until Monday morning to find out if I got in.
  2. I applied for the acute care np program online at drexel university, thomas jefferson university and georgetown university. So far I have been accepted to Drexel! I am still waiting to hear back from the other two universities. My top choices are Drexel or Georgetown. Is anyone currently in their acute care np program? If so could you tell me what you think of it. Thanks so much in advance!
  3. I am an ICU nurse and I have a little over a year of experience. My current job isn't offering any overtime anytime soon and I need to make extra money. In my area there aren't too many other hospitals so it can be hard to find jobs (much like everywhere else haha). I saw online a job posting at another hospital for PRN ED position and they require one year of experience in ED or ICU. Do you think it is ok to get a prn job still in critical care but outside of my current specialty? What specialties do you guys have prn jobs in? I would prefer a prn job in ICU but I don't know if or when one will come open. And I am interested in ED. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
  4. Thanks ?burnout for your reply. I really liked ECM Hospital as soon as I walked in I could feel I liked it. Much more compared to Huntsville when I interviewed there. I interviewed in for the ICU and met with the nurse manager of the ICU and CCU. I loved them and the units. But I just found out yesterday that they filled it internally, which really sucks, but I am trying to be patient. It is hard in that area of Alabama because of so few hospitals and few that are hiring. Where are you working now? I still hope to get a job in that area and am applying to everything I can. Wish me luck.
  5. I am looking at relocating to the Muscle Shoals area and have interviewed at Eliza Coffee Hospital and really liked the hospital and unit. I just wanted to know if anyone who worked there could give me some of their thoughts on the place. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
