George Brown or Centennial - RPN to BSCN Bridge for Sept 2021

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hello everyone,

Anyone else applied the Bridge 2021 at George Brown or Centennial?

want to wait for offers with me?

I am wondering if I can hear from past students at either of these two school about their experiences?

When did offers come out? hard to get into? They are both listed as noncompetitive?

Did you like the program? I heard these schools are not really self-directed like McMaster programs, care to share your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

hi @MOMTORN did you hear anything yet from gbc... yeaa hopefully we will go together

I am waiting.. I was told my casper test results did not meet the competition but they are holding my application for consideration later in the assessment cycle. I guess that means if those that did better turn the spot down, I will get it ? I am so upset. I thought I did good on that test. Not sure if that means I am out but I am hope not.

Hi there!

I am currently in my last semester at GBC and I was hoping to start the Centennial program (the hybrid option I think) in September 2021 (if I got accepted), even though we won't be able to write the CPNRE exam until June should I still apply?

@MOMTORN I'm so sorry ! Just be hopeful that later in the application cycle they will take you. Worst comes to worst you try again the next cycle, at least you know what to expect now form the CASPer ❤️ I totally understand how you feel, I graduated form university in 2018 and applied to all of the accelerated BScN's I could think of... got rejected from all of them. I was crushed. I applied to PN programs a few months later and got in and now am living my dream! It will happen for you, if not this cycle, the next one ❤️ ?

I applied to Centennial with a GPA of 3.73 and was told it was already waitlisted and they can offer me January 2022 intake instead.
I find it weird because they received my application Jan 27, and the deadline is Feb 1 and then I get an acknowledgement email on Feb 1 saying they received my application but the program is already waitlisted. I tried getting an answer about that from the admissions officer, but they avoided answering any of that. I am wondering if the Sep 2021 intake got waitlisted because of them offering the Jan 2021 applicants who didn’t get a spot for September just like they did with me for Jan 2022 spot instead of Sep 2021. I just find the whole evasiveness of clarifying the timelines for the application and offers being sent out a little ‘fishy’. Or maybe I am overthinking this. Don’t know ?

Oh man! When did you apply to the centennial program? I am now wishing I would have applied earlier had I known haha I was told they wouldn't give an acceptance until we showed them we are registered with the CNO? Everything was so confusing so I told myself I would wait until next September. I mean realistically it is only a semester later so you wouldn't be missing that much time! Plus it will give us more confidence as RPNs to bring into our RN practice ? But I feel you, it's beyond confusing

I applied January 27, 2021 for the 7993- Bridging to University Nursing. But it doesn’t matter how late you applied as long as you applied before the deadline date of February 1st for equal consideration. I guess I am just pissed as they will not answer any of queries of acceptance average and or why I never got an acknowledgement email when they received my application (Jan 27, 2021). And then they come back to say ‘oh it’s waitlisted, but we can offer you the Jan 2022 spot’. If they kept offering the applicants who didn’t get in the January 2021 intake and that’s what made the program full for Sep 2021, that’s not very fair for new applicants IMO.

Yeah they never emailed me about the missing requirements which weren’t technically missing as all my CNO registration docs were uploaded in OCAS and were handed over to Centennial along with my application. Getting them to respond to my ‘missing requirements’ question took them 2.5-3 weeks.

MarsBar - I complete the PN program in April, and I was advised the application cycle is finished in May so I am hoping I get it.. They didn't say no or waitlist me so I couldn't have done that bad, just lower then what they have for first round. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I mean I am still in the running for this term they said.. oh I hope..

Cpat123 and MarsBar - I applied to Centennial as well. I have heard nothing and my application says no decision has been made yet. If what you said is correct, they are waiting for me to register with the CNO before sending an offer as that is the only thing it says I need to get a conditional offer on their portal. ha - good thing they didn't need the Casper test. They are aware I am still in the PN program so its still an option for me. I applied Dec 14th.. I did email them today, so I will let you know what they say... I am not sure when they send offers out.

Anyone know if centennial is all online like other school because of Covid?

thank you for your quick reply! ? I submitted my application haha guess we just need to wait and see now! I'm just wondering how competitive the GPAs need to be... my cumulative GPA as of right now is a 3.86 which I know is a good one but have any of you heard of people getting accepted and if their GPAs were around this range? I'm scared we'll all need 4.0s LOL Also I'm at GBC at the moment, is this where you go to?

Actually now that I think of it I spoke to someone at centennial a few months ago from admissions and he said that "centennial does not send out conditional offers for this program" when I asked how it would work with the CNO registration and CPNRE writing... he said there is no cut off date to submit the CNO proof and that they wouldn't send one until then... unfortunate.. but I applied for the January 2022 intake so I guess I have time lmao

See when I applied they didn't respond with any mention of the Jan 2022 program, I am just sitting here waiting. I guess we shall find out when I register with the CNO in the next month or so.

I don't' go to GB I am at Conestoga for the RPN program currently. I start my last round of clinicals next week, what about you? when are you finished.
