Why am I stressing now?

Published

Only a week and a half left of this semester and all of a sudden I can feel the "stress bug" attacking me. It makes no sense, I've done fine in all of my classes and have had no real problems. So can someone please tell me why I'm starting to stress now? Is this happening to anyone else?

I seem to go through that same thing every semester. The stress always starts for me immediately following Thanksgiving break, or spring break. For me, there are lots of reasons for that. As you enter those final couple of weeks, all those projects and papers become due, you have tests coming up in every class with no time to study, and during this time of the year you have so much holiday kinds of stuff that you'd much rather be doing. That's what causes the stress for me anyway. Most of all....I just get sick of school at this point, and I really start to lose the desire to deal with it.

What you are going there is perfectly normal. I think everyone is going through it right now. I know I am really going crazy but I am trying really hard not to get REALLY stress since I always get sick under extreme stress.

I have to agree, I think we are all getting burned out on school and need a break. Lord knows I am ready for the 4 week break that begins on Dec.12 for me. I am going to curl up with a good book that has nothing to do with nursing!! I am going to take a couple of weeks off from studying and do things I like to do like read the novels my husband likes to call "sex books" I am in major need of nursing school relief!!

Good Luck to everyone and Happy Holidays

That may be it. I haven't really stressed all semester and just last week I had 5 exams, term paper due, and final checkout on assessment. Then I realized that finals were less than a week and a half away. Kind of like jet lag!! LOL!

I did find a book that I want to read until winterim starts though it's called The Hairston's-An American Family in Black and White by Henry wiencek. I met my neighbor the other day and he was telling me about what it was like when he was a young boy (he's 65 now), and after awhile he sent his wife over with a book that was published about his family and their history (from slavery to present day) and the reunions that they have. He was telling me that at the last "family reunion" there were over 1400 relatives! It sounds fascinating!!

I agree, i think most of us do feel overwhelmed more at the end of the semester.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one freaking at the end. I've done well all semester, but feel like I'm border line on everything. Then if that wasn't enough torture. I'm going to take a mini-session afterwards. Good luck to all on finals. Hang in there we're all gonna do just fine. Ciao!:p
