    Hello everyone,

My name is Marlita, I am currently attending ADN nursing program. I recently found out the program that I am in is going to be accelerated to continue over the summer. I am very excited to be working toward my ADN program. The program would mean I will have complete the ADN program within a years time instead of taking two years. The only proably I see my class will be the first to try the program this way. I am going to buckle down on my studies and keep my fingers crossed. The only way to make it fair to get into the acclerated program is by lottery process. I just hope there will be enough people to run the program over the summer. On Monday I am going to see if there is a waiting list that I can put my name on the list.

NurseAngie, Vandy is great but expensive. They have a distance learning option in some programs for RN's who don't have a BSN. Check out their website, it should have alot of the info you need.

Hello all!!! I am in an ADN program at a small community college. The main campus of Trinity Valley Community College is locate in Athens, Texas and that is where I did the majority of my pre-reqs. However, the nursing program is held at the Health Science Center located in Kaufman, Texas. This is a about an hour drive one way. No big deal!!! I still haven't decided whether to go for my BSN later or not. I've got to get to work and make some money first. There is a satellite ADN-BSN program from The University of Texas at Arlington held at the HSC and you only have to go to classes one day a week. But before getting into that I have a few additional pre-reqs to take. So I'll make this decision at a later date. Good luck this semester to all!!!

(Strange to me since Mary Breckinridge had to go to England to get training way back when and Europe is a hotbed for midwives) When will you graduate with your ADN? Are you hoping to work in L&D once you get your license? Ciao for now~ Ang
    Hi Ang,

The CNMs I had with my second birth went to Frontier, and they just rave about it! All of the licensed midwives here (the non-nurse midwives) all also suggest that I go into their program. I was surprised that I was the only person in my class this quarter that even knew who Mary Breckenridge was!

I graduate in June, 2003, and I'm planning to go straight into the RN-BSN here while working in L&D. I'm hoping to be able to go straight to Frontier when I'm done with that, hopefully one of the classes in 2004 or 2005, depending on how long it takes me to finish the BSN.

I'm really excited to be pursuing my dream. I've known ever since right after my first baby was born that I wanted to be a midwife.

I graduated LPN school where you are in the ADN program and I have a girl friend who is doing the part-time LPN-RN mobility program there.

seems like I am the only one rom the west. I am a third semester ADN student in Tucson, Arizona and I can't wait till May. It goes so fast!!!! Nice to see other students excited about becoming a nurse also. I work with alot of nurses who don't want to be nurses anymore so it is really nice to see.

I will be starting an ADN program in January at Westark College, well actually it is becoming the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith... I am originally from MS, so that is where all my pre-reqs were completed at.. Hopefully will complete a BSN program afterwards, and would love to work as a Labor and Delivery Nurse...

I'm a junior in the BSN program at University of MD. It was that or Johns Hopkins, but I didn't want to be $40,000 in debt when I graduate.

My name is Veronica and I am currently enrolled in my second year of the ADN program in Cleveland, Oh. I just finished Peds/OB and halfway finished with Gerontology. I will graduate in May 2002 with God's help. I plan to work for about a year then try for my BSN. Is there any one else here from Ohio?

I'm in the Army and taking the LPN course. I graduate in April. No idea where they'll send me after that.
