What is Considered Passing at Your School??

Published

I'm in my 3rd quarter of my ADN RN program and am just curious as to what marks other students here have to have to pass.

I have to get a 78% or above on my all exams to be considered passing....we lost about 5 people over the last 2 quarters too. Yikes! :uhoh21:

The minimum percentage grade for a "C" is 77%. However, if you get below a 77 on 1/2 of the total course work to be graded (i.e., you get below a 77 on the first 3 exams in a course in which there are to be 6 exams counted toward the final grade) you are considered to have failed the course and must withdraw, even if it is theoretically possible to pull your final grade up above 77 with the remaining exams.

Clinical is pass/fail, including satisfactory completion of all written assessments, care plans, etc.

Wow, some of you have to meet a certain percentage on EVERY EXAM?! I think we would have lost over half our class by now if that were the case with us... we have to have a 75% average for the 11 week term (usually encompassing 4-5 major exams) to continue to the next term. But say you get a 25% on acid base and lytes but know everything else that term and pull your grade average up to passing you're good to continue on... Doesn't make sense I know, but that's the way ours is.

80% or higher is passing.

75% on everything but the drug dosage, and that is 80% in 3 tries, which each semester increases to a higher percent with less tries.

Have to have 76% or higher in all areas. We started with 51 students, down to 40.
