OK, Mr/Ms State of Affairs. You join up today, post this one little diatribe (Multiple times on different sections of the forum), but no information on who you are. Does this post help anything or anyone? If it looks like a TROLL and lives under a bridge, it must be a TROLL.

I kind of feel like we just went through this with another new poster....hm...

yep, it's a troll. joined and made 5 identical posts in the same day.

I don't know if he's a troll or not. But, I hear a lot about this "nursing shortage" from my professors but when I look on the regional forum of Allnurses all I see are new grads that need work.

Of course, this doesn't necessarily prove anything - still, I get the feeling that maybe when I graduate I won't be hired quickly like my professors have been saying. The economy is complete crap right now and I really don't see it getting any better, I see it getting worse.

I am honest when I say, I see where you are coming from. Who am I to be posting something inciting or disapproving of authority figures, something so fictitious and negative, with imagery (that is more powerful than words alone). Easy buddy, relax. It is called a satire, the reader isn't expected to take it as objective reality. The intent is to raise awareness to a more sincere point that programs are pumping out nurses and increasing revenue on the false pretense that there is a plethora of jobs.

You asked a valid question, "Does this post help anything or anyone?" It is biting humor, completely on topic for a nursing forum, and intended to have a cathartic effect for many of the users that may share a similar sentiment about skewing facts for personal gain.

Regarding the account, it is called a novelty account. Created for the sole purpose of sharing the comic. If it doesnt resonate with you then attack the message, because when you attack the author credibility you are secretly admitting there is some truth to what you are opposed.

Others posted their opinion and disagreed with the prevailing message, I respect that. But if some find truth in it, it resonates with them, perhaps they will print it out or share it. Perhaps it will cultivate discussion regarding the issue - Perhaps it will orient to a problem that people are afraid to bring up because of the personal culpability related to the issue.

I will leave you with this, nurses are a very cohesive group, this topic is insulated by misused research, and administrative faculty have an air of infallibility - ALL antecedent conditions of groupthink.

what is with people posting stuff lately about --dont go into nursing, you wont find a job, blah blah blah... are they legit? is the info legit? or is it just people trying to decrease their competition ...hmmm?
