Shoes

Reebok has a nice little white athletic shoe, fairly comfortable, easy to clean and not very expensive.

I'm curious about shoes too! I am a "shoe person" so if I have to wear some dreadfully ugly white shoe, I'll be bummed. I think at our school we are allowed to wear white sneakers - I'll find out at my orientation in August. I do understand that if they let you wear whatever you want, you'll need to get something that is easy to clean because you don't want to be running around with "stuff" on your shoes! :eek:

New Balance makes the 810. It was prescribed to me by my podiatrist. It's a lace up and it has really good support. One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Here in Texas, we have SAS shoes. These are all leather with great support. BUT they are expensive, the ones I get are about 70 dollars a pair.

I tend to collect "runners." My favourite are Reekbok walkers. They come in plain white, and are made for those on who are on their feet for long periods of time. I love my work shoes. I find runners have the best support for those long hours.

buy two pairs if at all possible. One to wear to and from clinical, and one to wear for clinicals. I am a reasonable person, but I just dont want to take any risk of transporting anything home to my family. Reeboks are reasonable price. hope this helps

We're required to wear "nursing shoes". We are not allowed to wear anything that resembles a tennis shoe. Including the guys. I was headed in the direction of "NurseMates" shoes because they're affordable.

I just wear the plain ol' ugly nursing shoe. My tennis shoes wore out, and the nursing ones were $20 at K-mart! Have to go with that for now, cause I'm still a student!

Afterward though, I want to get a good pair of walkers.

I wear New Balance 810's also. There is actually a factory in the next town over so I can get em cheap. For the students that are not allowed sneakers can you wear those vinyl clogs? I wore them for a while and they were comfortable but my wife made fun of me for wearing them :confused:

This week K-Mart has athletic shoes buy one get one 50% off, I found a cute new pair for $17-cheap enough you can just throw them out if they get gross! They are like a slip on tennis shoe-if that makes sense;) no laces, non marking soles.
