okay I am a major office supply geek to begin with, but I just can't wait to buy my school supplies for the fall. I already bought a very cool Nike binder. It's a 3 ring binder and it also has an accordian file built in, along w/ lots of pockets and pen holders. It's exactly what I needed so I went ahead and bought it. I am trying to wait until Georgia has their sales tax holiday to buy the rest of my stuff, but it is killing me. I want to go ahead and get it all now so I can play and get all organized! anyone else feel this way or am I the only office supply geek? :D

[quote. Within each notebook, I suggest you add a calendar (full page type) to keep an at a glance view of what assignments are due.

The funny thing about being organized....you will see the other student picking up on your system.

Hyperstudent,

That is a great idea about keeping a calendar to keep yourself abreast about what assignments are due. Thanks!!!! :)

I actually just bought a day-planner type thing. I always get one for each school year and they work pretty well for me. I use it for school and for personal stuff too.

Great ideas guys! I buy a wipe off calendar also, and I put all the assignments and tests, etc. on it for the month. That way it's really big and I can't miss it! I'm getting so forgetful these days - when are the library movies due again. Darn it - I owe another $5!!! :angryfire My son isn't getting any more movies from the library - EVER!!!

Not only have I bought my school supplies and ordered my books, uniforms, and clinical supplies--I actually have my bag packed for the first day of school! My oldest daughter and I packed our bags last night. The 2 younger kids are NOT interested in getting ready for school yet.
I did that my first semester of actual nursing classes, washed my uniforms like six times to make them less stiff sewed on patches had my name in all my books everything packed and ready by middle of July, classes didnt start until end of August. Oh it felt so good because I was finally going to take the NURSING CLASSES and after so many years of wanting was going to get to DO. LOL so I know how you feel

For date/assignment organization, I am totally dependent on my palm pilot. I keep track of all my home and school stuff on it. I also type all my notes up, then hotsync them to my palm. That way, I can study wherever I am.

school shopping is soooo much fun. i never figured out why i like it but it seems to be something i always look forward to. the most important thing to get (in my mind) is an academic planner to carry with you. it's like my second brain:chuckle . if i didn't have that i would be so lost. 3_3_5.gif

I though I was the only one who got excited about school supplies! :p I am waiting for Wal-Mart and Kmart to bust out with their annual school supply stock up thing. I can't help it! I love pens! It's my one weakness. The more unique the better. As for the planner thing I bought one called "Student Nurse Planner" last month. When I got my temp syllabus I put it in the appropriate section in my planner. I also have my books bag packed and have been lugging it to work with me to get used to how it's going to be! My friends call me a dork but I can't help it! :chuckle

I'm a "pen" person too! I love all the new funky ones. I give my kids the Bic's, while *I* get the good ones! :chuckle I even hide them!

I'm a school/office supply HOARDER! I love new spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, labels, etc. I wish I had a Staples in my backyard. Every time I get to one (closest is about 45 min), I wander the aisles like a kid in Toys R Us....

lol reminds me of that Staples commercial for back to school. The dad is running through the aisles of the Staples while the kid drags along behind and in the background you hear that christmas song "it's the most wonderful time of the year"

In georgia, they have a sales tax holiday every year before school starts where all school supplies are tax free (along w/ clothes, shoes, backpacks, etc) it's at the end of this month so I am trying to hold off on buying my school stuff until then but it is sooo hard!

I love getting new pens, but honestly the best ones IMO are the Bic Velocity. Nice comfie grip, writes pretty smoothly. I love gel pens, but I always make a mess when I try to take notes with them. My hand always ends up covered in ink! I think I may treat myself and buy a really nice fancy shmancy pen before classes start.

mmmm gel pens are lovely! Some of my favorite pens are horrible for taking notes; they bleed through the paper so I can't write on the back. Currently loving the fountain pen my mother brought back from Germany. Apparently is the preferred writing tool for school age kids, as mine had a popular cartoon character on it. I also have binders from Germany too! However the rings are different and I have to get a special hole punch for them so I don't think I will be using them for school. For some reason I love the smell of new binders! :rotfl:

i love shoppin for school supplies too and my favorite pen is the Dr. Grip pen. it costs like $6 and I'm sooooo cheap lol so people are shocked when i buy it, but I love it! I can't wait for school to start! lol I feel like a little kid
