Nursing Student needing advice!!

Nursing Students General Students

Hi!

I am currently heading into my 3rd semester in the RPN program. This semester we have pharmacology and I'm looking to buy some drug cards so that I don't have to write them all out for clinical.

Any advice on what drugs cards to get? Are some more helpful than others or are they all relatively the same?

Thanks in advance!!

Your instructor might have specific requirements to put on your drug cards. I also found that if I wrote my own cards, I was more likely to remember the data needed.

Write your own. Seriously.

I got pharmacology phlash and they are way over priced and pretty general/basic. I agree with making your own, because your teacher will have specific points she wants you to know, but I didn't have the time to make mine. Here's an excellent reference for ready made cards: https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/pharmacology-flashcards-595483.html

I invested in Davis Drug Guide for my iphone. It is completely worth it. I find the quality of information better than those free apps. I was not allowed to use my phone on the nursing units during school, but it really saved me a ton of time when I was looking up meds/ making drug cards prior to clinical.

I also agree to write your own. If you use ATI, there are drug cards on every drug in each class. It's not a "card" persay but a page summary of all the info you need. Huge help to me!
