Hey everyone.. Sorry I haven't been around but school has kept me super busy.. I'm stressing so bad it's unreal.. I graduate June 11, 04 only 3 more months.. But let's not go there yet..

I have a problem.. I did my ped's rotation and we have to do a paper on it.. I need to make a meal plan for a 7 monht old... I can't find anything any where.. It's due on monday and that's all I have left to do.. If you all could help me out it would be great..

As for school I'm totally stressed to the max and not sure how to deal with the pressure any more.. I came home early on friday because I was ready to explode and partially did.. Just 3 more months and I am a GPN I can't wait.. How do you all deal with the stress???

Any advise would be wonderful

There are actually mothers that make their own baby foods. You could try to include those, also. Such as what types of flavors are acceptable to the infant of that age.

Good luck and don't let the stress get to you. We have all been through it before.

Formula, baby fruits and veggies. Eggs and meat are usually introduced later than 7 months. Good luck.

There are actually a lot of babies that age that are still exclusively breastfed. The AAP policy statement is that breastmilk is all a baby needs for "approximately" the first six months, and the gradual introduction of solid foods should take place in the second half of the first year.

maybe mention only starting one new food per week in order to check for food allergies?

I agree with Suzanne. Good old fashioned vegetables, fruit and a blender. You know for yourself that it is ALL natural.

My babies were all breastfed, and I didn't introduce even cereal until 7 months. I think it is definitely an individual thing - just like meal plans for adults. But definitely the "one food a week" rule applies, as well as amounts (probably only a few tablespoons per meal - if that). I made my own baby food also. so I'm not sure what is considered "good" by peds in terms of pre-made baby foods, but I would make sure none of have added salt, sugar, etc.

I believe my babies also had a small sippy cup of juice around that time also, for when I was going to be away for a feeding and they got thirsty. 100% apple juice or white grape juice.

The AAP also recommends that juice not be given to babies/children in bottles or sippy cups, and that prior to a year it's not necessary. From 1-6 years, it's recommended that if given, it be limited to 4-6 oz/day.
