In less than 12 hours I am to take my boards and as every hour goes by I'm starting to get more and more nuts!!! I know that I should go to bed and get a "good night sleep" but I have no idea how I'm ever going to be able to!!! Yeah sleep, right... normal WBC values are... what are BUN and creatinine again?(can't even spell at this point!), ect. ect, ad infinum
I can't wait until this is over!!!! Please say a prayer for me as I need all the help I can get. I am a smart and competent person who is going to make a great RN, I just wish it was over!!! Just needed to vent inbetween all the last minute cramming... I know I should'nt cram last minute but that's who I am. For all those poor souls behind me PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE!!! I'll let you all know how it goes............in just a few hours!
I PASSED!!! I PASSED!!! I PASSED!!!!
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to all of you wonderful and thoughtful souls (what a time to crash my Operating system! to many NCLEX questions stuffed into it and it blew a gasket).
I really had a major case of the nerves and I want to thank you all for being so supportive!! Your thoughts and prayers worked!!
I'm now a full fledged RN (I think I want to puke now :-)
The boards were HARD!! STUDY!!!!
I had many people tell me that their test seemed to center on one particular area but that was not my case. I had questions from L&D, ped's, ortho, Neuro, med-surg, pysc, home health, and oh yes the dreaded pharm!!! Don't let anyone tell you there are no pharmacology questions on the boards, there were on mine. If any area was heavy on my test it was probably psyc. Make sure you know where to put those manic bi-polors!! (with fellow manics, psycotics, major depressed pt's or in a group?) Just imagine yourself as a charge nurse (yeah right!)
My test shut off at 75. I wasn't even paying attention to how many I had answered so when that screen popped up that the test had ended my heart about stopped. I came out honestly feeling that I could have gone either way. I definately didn't feel like I had nailed it, and prayed to God I hadn't failed it. I took it on a Thurs and got found out I had passed in the next Tuesday. I have to admitt I was checking the web site everyday. I still don't understand why they can't let us know right then and there if we've passed or failed. But then again it's better then waiting 6 weeks or more like those before us. It's still sinking in! All the nurses at work have been so supportive and you all have been great!! Thank you all! You've made my trial easier just knowing that there are fellow students and nurses out there rooting for me. For all of you getting ready to take the boards soon....1) study and 2) don't be afraid to post. The support of my peers made all the difference. I thought of all you guys last Thurs. and again thank you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts! Tariet
Yea! Congratulations to you! I have been checking to see if you posted anything and have been sending good thoughts your way. I am so happy for you. I have a long ways to go before I am where you are. I am just taking pre-requisites right now. I am working on enjoying the journey and not worrying too much about the destination though. You should really be proud of yourself.- Kimberly
